I am so sorry he is having a rough time. I would stop the Culturelle and see if

that makes a difference. Not all kids tolerate it.

I'm sorry for the title, I just am panicked. My son in almost 8, and (I

thought) very high functioning. All of a sudden he has started playing with his

poop. I won't get into details.I don't know where this is coming from.We have

tried every form of explanation to him, and we thought he understood.

And yesterday he completely ruined a family's visit to our house, because he

was afraid of their 2 yr old.Screaming, curling up in a ball saying " get her

away from me " . He has never, even in the early dx days, done any of this.

We have him on the complete DAN! protocol, and can't afford another visit

right now.The only new thing we have started in the past weeks is Culturelle,

because of a supposed c.diff infection.

Please, I hope someone can help, I am just in tears right now.

First, sorry to hear about this. A few thoughts. Smearing feces can be caused

by parasites, which are supposedly worse at the full moon, which happened

yesterday, I think? Since the timing matches so closely I'd think about doing a

parasite cleanse. I've also heard this can be caused by yeast, could be die-off

caused by the culturelle, or maybe he needs a different probiotic. C.diff can

cause all sorts of sensitivities, so maybe the screaming was die-off from that?

If he does have c. diff, it can be very hard to get under control you may

consider doing SCD to get his gut back in balance.

Thanks to everyone that answered my question. Our DAN! said to stop Culturelle

and give activated charcoal today. I hope it works, because this is too painful

to watch after how far we have come.

I believe culturelle has milk in it, I would stop it. We use Klaire labs detox

probiotic and love it.
