Lysine was one of my son's wonder supps. Watch for yeast overgrowth, because the viral die off caused by lysine caused a lot of yeast here. Congrats on the improvements! Guest guest
How much lysine did you start with? is there any vitamins/supps that should not be given with the lysine?. I have had the lysine in my cupboard for a while now and have not tried it yet . Our DD has given us a script for Valtrex do you think I should try the lysine first? We are about to do the high dose vit A today for two days. For yeast we are giving him fluconazole and rotating every ten days with Itraconazole we also give him 2-4 drops of GSE and candidase/candex before bed and I started him on biotin a couple of weeks ago we are now at 600mcg which is not much but I am not sure when to increase and how much to go up with the biotin. OLE should be given at least 2 hours apart, lysine will neutralize OLE. Arginine will neutralize the effects of lysine. >>I have had the lysine in my cupboard for a while now and have not tried it yet . The most I gave was 20mg biotin 3x per day. It does require magnesium for proper absorption. Once the biotin levels were good, I was able to drop all my other anti-fungals, unless there was a flare at which point I would add a very small amount of GSE or ACV. Guest guest
I wanted to add more to this as I am putting pieces of the puzzle together. I have been taking Lysine as well and trying to eat a high lysine diet( I googled herpes diet to find out about this). There are foods that increase viral growth: caffeine, chocolate and for me oatmeal, concentrated grains like pretzels. I have had some of these food sensitivities for years and am now just connecting that they make me feel bad not because I can't digest wheat(celiac), but because it makes the virus grow. I am pregnant right now and am so sensitive that I would eat a bowl of oatmeal and then feel like I was going to pass out. The same seems to be true for my son, if he gets some crackers he starts to get really moody and then I will give him lysine and he starts to get better within minutes. The virus also shows up as stiffness in my body: creaky joints, tight muscles. As I get better the stiffness goes away and my joints don't crack as much. I also get a loosening of phlegm in my lungs each time I take a dose of lysine. Last year I had done Virastop and OLE and not gotten these results. My 3 YO is still making improvements, although we have to keep increasing his dose. He is sleeping extra sometimes during his nap and sometimes at night. We take biotin and so far the yeast has been under control. Beth
Guest guest
What dose are you giving your three y/o. I have just started the lysine for my three y/o and I am giving him 250mgs a day. I have a prescription for valtrex but I wanted to try this first. Have you noticed good things with the lysine for your son, how long has he been on it and how often are you increasing. Thanks Shell From: Beth Dunkel <bethwd@...> Subject: Re: Lysine: I DO have a sweet 3 YO!! Guest guest
I started him on 500mg 1x per day, I saw immediate results (mood changed right away.) A few days later I added another 500mg and now he takes 1000mg am, 500mg lunch, 500mg dinner. Each time I have increased when his mood was really bad. I taught him how to swallow pills so now it is easy to get him to take it.
