Guest guest
I have been trying to conquer this with our 11 yr. old Son with Aspergers. We've always had great success with homeopathy. This route is really safe and has always helped us through some tough issues as leaky gut (Tummy upset by Newton Labs). My husband and I used to believe that this tincture must be working as a placebo because our son would feel better after just 15 min. of taking the homeopathic drops. That was until I had a severe stomach issue due to an abscess tooth. I was desperate so I took some Tummy upset and it was not even 15 min and I felt the nausea lift! We are now trying some drops called (The Blues) that are suppose to help with anxieties and depression. Our son has had high anxieties for the past month. Last night he was having panic attacks so I gave him 3 drops of The Blues and he fell asleep 10 min. later. I can't explain this phenomena but for some reason this stuff really works. I am now convinced that if The Blues takes care of his anxieties that I WILL approach homeopathics for heavy metal detox as the DMSA approach made him seriously depressed and anxious ! Send me a private email and I WILL keep you updated. Laurie > > Hello, > > I have 5 year old son with Autism who is an intermediate learner. Guest guest
Hi , My experience in other issues with our son who has Aspergers is with Newtons Labs Homeopathics. You can read my last post for what we used. You can purchase these at most co-ops. I am going to take this route in hopes that the success rate is equal to what we've seen with our past using homeopathy. We've used it for nausea and anxieties and the results are unbelievable. I want to continue with this approach in other areas we need with helping our son in areas as focus and heavy metal detox. If your interested in updates please send your email privately and I will reply as I see results . I would love to find a homeopath in our area who can personally see both of our son's. > > > > Hello, > > > > I have 5 year old son with Autism who is an intermediate learner. Guest guest
We have tried everything biomedical and diet related as well. We saw slight improvement with activity though a HUGE increase in language, behaviors, social and cognition with homeopathy and slightly better focus with the nicotine patch as well. Frustrating that we have not found the golden ticket yet but I suppose every step helps. > > Hello, > > I have 5 year old son with Autism who is an intermediate learner. Guest guest
We saw huge improvements in cognition with hyperbarics and UVIG. I know these are expensive. My daughter''s biggest improvements came between 8-10 years old!!! She is now general education , general ed curriculum 4th grade (with an aide as needed). All A's and B;s. Diet did not make much difference to us either....Keri On Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 11:05 AM, M's Mom <sylsumida@...> wrote: > > > We have tried everything biomedical and diet related as well. Guest guest
Addressing my son's bacteria and heavy metal detox helped his focus/attention tremendously. My other ADHD son's attention issues have been helped by healing his leaking gut and food allergies. Both are gut related...once the guts were healing, the fog is lifting. Biocidin and digestive enzymes with probiotics work in our house. Joanne > > Hello, > > I have 5 year old son with Autism who is an intermediate learner. Guest guest
Hello members, I had a question regarding childrens attention and focus issues. For instance, if a child learns well one-on-oneat home but is defocused and inattentive in a large group environment, i.e school classrooms, then is he/she considered an ADD child or is the problem more with sensory/auditory integration? I am wondering about this and if the biomedical approach should be different based on whether ADD or integration issues. Thanks for any helpful comments. Guest guest
Anjana, How old is your child? I'm not sure that being inattentive in a large group setting means one must have either ADD or sensory issues. In part it depends on what the large group is doing (or not doing) that might be the issue. Is the pace of the material being presented too fast or too slow? Are all learning styles being addressed in the large group or is the instructor depending only on auditory information? All of us learn better one on one, which is why Oxford College still teaches in groups of 1-3 students per don/instructor and that's at the unveristy level. Many of the biomed approaches work well for both ADD and sensory issues. Tell us more about what is happening with the child and their specific issues. Miriam From: anjanamparker@... Guest guest
Have you considered hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)? We saw a great improvement in speech and in focus within a couple weeks. Actually, our BSC, who we didn't even tell so we could get unbiased input, was amazed at the distinct improvement. Read up on it and see if it is for you. Guest guest
Thank you for your response. I was managing IEP's and didn't check messages on time. Our son, , goes to a public school (blue ribbon school, highly ranked). Language processing is a big problem for him. Reading comprehension is poor as well. Not getting good grades in writng...sigh..He tells me he is bored with grammar and as his parents we feel that the work they are doing in 4th grade is of 6th grade level when we were kids. We are going to see an integrative ADD doctor and thinking of just pulling him out of the public school system. The school hinted srongly during the IEP about meds. They will probably put him in special ed. if we don't. I do not think he has AIT but ADD. Thanks. Guest guest
My *recovered* daughter had a tough year in 4th grade. My 2nd grade son's therapists told me that 4th grade is tough for a lot of ASD (and non-ASD) kids. I put her in a public charter school that has a different approach to learning and it fits her better. It is also smaller, with smaller class sizes and electives, so she can choose subjects that are more interesting for her. She is also less stressed. If I didn't have this option, I would've tried a private school (I work, so I can't home school). She is doing better this year in 5th grade, but I need to work with her almost daily to help her catch up in math. I have also put her on some herbs and homeopathy that have helped her.  Carol From: autumn_lily99 <anjanamparker@...> Subject: Re: Focus & Attention Date: Friday, October 30, 2009, 11:03 PM  Thank you for your response. Guest guest
Thanks for your response. It is nice to hear that people are addressing Attention and Focus problems without meds. I think the charter school option is great, IF we can get in to one near us. They get about 10 times more applications than capacity. Chelation protocols I'm reading about seem so difficult & scary. I'm looking for something safe, effective and easy to administer. thanks, > > Hi , > > My experience in other issues with our son who has Aspergers is with Newtons Labs Homeopathics. >

I'm looking for something safe, effective and easy to administer. I chelated all four of my kids, and myself, with ALA, low dose, conservative protocol. It worked very well here. Guest guest
I guess i am going to get screamed at by various people, but have you tried ADD meds ,tea or pygenol? I am a BAD mom but at this point I am trying ADD meds. My daughter has fallen so far behind from not focusing that we are going to try them again. Our daughter was born bright and just gotten further behind typical kids each year. I tried them a few years ago and my daughter could do things like sit and play legos or climb a wall but then the teacher thought she was spacey and less language/imagination. Stimming was way down. We took her off them probably should have had dose changed dose. Doc and pharmacist say we will probably have to try a few kinds and different doses . One of our friends daughters was always a bit different but was in typical class in lowest reading group . She took her off ADD meds and then the teachers said aspergers and the kids started teasing her. I think the ADD meds kept some of her behaviors down to help pass her off as normal if a loner and a bit different if really watched. Gum also helps with focus . They are able to get nervous tension out in an ok way. > > > We have tried everything biomedical and diet related as well. Guest guest
One other thing I have found headphones playing music helps with sit down tasks. There always those workers in a cubicle with headphones on that seem to do better. I heard white noise also works. > > > We have tried everything biomedical and diet related as well.
