Guest guest
Has anyone used these, especially ZenPep? My ds has used regular enzymes for a few years but now his doc is recommending we switch. She mentioned better fat absorption (my ds is skinny) and also that she didn't want him on any enzymes that are fungal-based. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I went through and read old posts that mentioned these types of enzymes but I didn't really find any answers to how kids are doing on these. Any positives? Any side effects? Any behavioral or physical changes noted? Or are there any regular enzymes for gluten and dairy that don't come from mushrooms? He is GFCF but we still give him enzymes with all meals and snacks. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hello! We have had great success with lipase. My son takes 2 capsules of Tyler Lipase Concentrate-HP by Integrative Technologies. We also use Trienza, but the lipase was what finally stopped the loose stools. I only give him the lipase when he eats fat.
Guest guest
Hi , I have a question about your question. I was unaware that any enzymes come from mushrooms, and if they are then I think this could be a huge problem for my son. Do you happen to know which enzymes and brands are derived from mushrooms? In addition to the few over the counter enzymes he uses, he also gets a prescription enzyme called Creon 6000. It is derived from pork. What we have noticed since using it is much better digested meat and fats. Before using we would actually frequently see in his stools chunks of bite size meat. This has not happened since start the start of the Creon. We looked into ZenPep before starting the Creon but our insurance carrier did not cover it, so we went to the Creon. We have never noticed any behavioral changes in our son since starting it. Kara > > Has anyone used these, especially ZenPep?
