Guest guest
We would really like to go out to eat while our children are on Christmas break. We need GFCFSFEF. Is this even possible? Where are the restaurants that we might have the best luck finding a low allergen meal? Do any of you eat out and what have you ordered at some of the establishments that you frequent? I also plan to give them an enzyme before the meal. Thanks for any advice or suggestions! Tracey Mom to 3 girls-all GFCFSFEF
Guest guest
Outback has a gluten free menu. It is a little too high for us most of the time, so we just go most places and order him a hamburger(make sure they don't marinate it in soy sauce) without a bun and some steamed veggies and stress not to put anything on them. We rarely have any reaction, but my son doesn't have life threatening reactions or I would be much more cautious. - ________________________________ From: Tracey <teossenkop@...> To: Subject: Best luck with eating out at restaurants? Guest guest
Ruby Tuesday has been wonderful. I ask the manager (always talk to the manager) to cook either a hamburger patty or a chicken breast (unmarinated) in a skillet in the oven. Avoid the grill. And then I add some of the salad bar ingredients that she can tolerate. Their salad bar is safe. But beware of their french fries. They are pre- treated before they arrive at the restaurant with soy oil and other ingredients that I don't remember off the top of my head. I don't know what EF means. > > We would really like to go out to eat while our children are on > Christmas break. We need GFCFSFEF. Is this even possible? Guest guest
I hear PF Chang's is accomodating, but haven't tried it myself. We just got one in town and haven't been to it yet. Guest guest
I am just now getting to this but wanted to thank all of you for your replies. We have not been to eat yet but I am leaning towards trying an italian place Carbarras? The do offer gluten free options so I am going to call before going. I checked out the online menu and I see ONE option we might be able to try. EF is egg free. Thank you for all of your suggestions. We have only been out one of other time to a steak place and got them the children's filet with steamed broccoli so we could go back there again but will have to talk to manager. Well, blessing to you all in 2009! Thanks again. Tracey Mom to 3 princesses > > We would really like to go out to eat while our children are on > Christmas break. We need GFCFSFEF. Guest guest
We eat at the Outback occasionally. I'm not sure if this is a chain restaurant where you live. The seasoning on the steaks is safe, the French fries are fried separately from other breaded food, and they'll grill veggies without butter, but sub olive oil instead.
