Guest guest
Hi , I very much sympathize with you about the withdrawal effect. We have gone through it a few times. I would think about what you are using for yeast/bacteria? Sometimes these things have to be changed, as diet changes. Also, if you are using Tri-Enza, you may be having die-off now that the gluten and dairy are gone. They may have been masking something. The gut is a strange thing!Activated charcoal after yeast meds works great for a few days. My son had terrible die off with fever, and a bad cold coming out of nowhere - charcoal cleared them right up, even after 5 days of die off. If Tri-Enza doesn't work, consider switching enzymes. We found at our house, it wasn't strong enough. Also, when you remove the offending foods, your sons body actually may be going through all these things for a good reason - he has never felt all the sensory things he is now and is adjusting to them. My son was in a fog for too long, and when we removed the gluten and dairy, he had to relearn how to cope with functioning. It passes though. We now do the Specific Carb Diet with enzymes at every meal. Now, we don't do it with the " fanatical adherance " that is recommended, but enough to know it works. We don't do rice, potato, etc because my son can't tolertate them.Perhaps he will at another point in healing. Please be patient with all the changes your son is going through. Ask us all the questions you want, becasue we have all walked or or walking in your shoes! Blessings, Susi
Guest guest
Hi!? What enzymes are stronger than Trienza?? Thank you:)
Guest guest
We have found that Kirkman Maximum Spectrum Enzyme Complete/DPP-IV Fruit Free w/Isogest works very, very well in our house. I think Krkiman promotes theirs to be one of the strongest on the market. We have a myriad of food issues, especially with starches and sugars, so this product addresses all those for us. Other folks like other enzymes. Hope this helps, Susi > > Hi!? What enzymes are stronger than Trienza?? Thank you:) > > >
Guest guest
> Today (Wednesday) his behavior is worse than when he went through the Gluten withdrawals. To be honest, it is a little scary. Impulsive, squealing, pinching, biting, hitting, pinching himself, etc. I am assuming this is a yeast/bacteria issue. It does sound like probably yeast, altho might be something else, like he might not tolerate a new food. My son's rice intolerance was much worse than his wheat intolerance. Guest guest
I would try transitioning to a diet like the specific carboydrate diet or the Body Ecology Diet which eliminates corn and rice and other complex starches along with gluten and encourages fermented foods to help control yeast/bad bacteria. He officially went off wheat 12 days ago. The Gluten withdrawals were really bad. The third day being the worst. After that we saw gradual improvement in his behavior-except his stools were still very soft and yellow to orange. He seemed restless and wired. By Monday morning he was speaking in a weird strained voice, squealing, pinching, biting and having a hard time with transitions. By mid-day Monday I took him off of all starches. (btw-before this, I might have gone a little crazy with the GFCF pancake, waffle, banana bread mixes, etc. b/c i was scared he was not going to eat anything) > Today (Wednesday) his behavior is worse than when he went through the Gluten withdrawals. Guest guest
he has been of the specific carb diet now for the past 2 weeks. things continued to go from bad to worse after my last post. then it seemed like he was starting to feel better...but then had a major regression and became borderline psychotic!!! again, very scary. a few days ago we figured out he is having trouble absorbing fats. not knowing this i was giving him cod liver oil and making the matter much worse. he was a very sick little boy. the yeast came back and we are now dealing with die off...again. hopefully we are getting to the bottom of all of this. wish us luck. > > I have tried to post before but was unsuccessful, I really hope I can get through this time. > > My son has SPD and is 3 years old.
