Guest guest
Since we have discovered the evils of gluten, casein and phenols on my sons system, we have almost 100% reduced the amount of g, c and p he is getting, with great results. I have Enzymedica gluten-ease which I've used twice so far when giving him his low fat kefir with all of his supplements in it, and I've not noticed anything - meaning neither craziness or overly- normalness. Just nothing special, which I realize is good. But I'm just so nervous about this! Really seriously, tell me, for all intents and purposes, I could give this kid 1 or 2 gluten-ease's and half a bagel and he wouldn't go crazy-o on me? It just seems too, well, perfect. I purchased the enzymedica because we are leaving for vacay tomorrow and I didnt' have enough time to get the Houston enzymes I really want, I fully intend to order them upon our return - and by then I will hopefully be feeling more comfortable with the gluten-ease and how its working. Call me crazy. I know. I just envision us on the plane tomorrow and there being those little mini cartons of milk being passed out with breakfast and wanting to throw an enzyme cap in there and have a go. I hate experimenting on my kid! He;lp me through this!!! Tina in NJ
Guest guest
It seems to depend on the kid whether enzymes allow them to eat gluten or casein. It seems that lots of people on this list use enzymes instead of diet, and I envy them! My son is one of those kids who can't have any gluten or casein no matter how many enzymes I give him. I use Houston, by the way. I do think that the enzymes have helped reduce his reaction when he has an unintended exposure, and he does much better when he gets them so I give them every time he eats. I'm working now on healing his gut so that he can expand his diet later on. You will just have to figure out for your own son what works for him. I understand about not wanting to experiment. My thought is also that we have something going that is working well (his gut is showing signs of healing), so why mess around with it? The only advantage to adding gluten or casein back in is convenience (okay, so that's a big reason). Best of luck with this! -Sierra > > Since we have discovered the evils of gluten, casein and phenols on > my sons system, we have almost 100% reduced the amount of g, c and p > he is getting, with great results. > > I have Enzymedica gluten-ease which I've used twice so far when > giving him his low fat kefir with all of his supplements in it, and > I've not noticed anything - meaning neither craziness or overly- > normalness. I used HNI AFP Peptizyde, not Glutenease. I was able to add back wheat with AFP, and my son noticeably improved. > Call me crazy. I know.
