tongue twisting/ putting fingers in mouth

Hi,

Lately, my 6 year old son has been twisting his tongue alot and putting his

fingers in his mouth. I'm puzzled by this. He's not on any perscription meds but

he does take nutritional supplements. Could this be some sort of side effect? A

viral problem? A deficiency? Thryoid related?

Anyone know what causes this? Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks,
