Guest guest
I have a 4 year old with SPD, we are not GF/CF, but he has not had any obvious dairy since we began enzymes. I started him on Peptyzide 2 weeks ago this coming Tuesday, and saw a dramatic change in him within one day. He turned into the dream child, compliant, chatty, " I love you " 20 times a day, not bugging baby sister, not moody. This continued for about 3 days, and then we had some up and downs. If I normally would rate his behavior as medium most of the time, and bad when tired or has illness, etc., I would say now he is mostly pleasant, with some medium and bad behavior thrown in, so better overall. His anxiety has decreased. But like a lot of you have noted, he is quite mouthy at times, and also has very hyper moments. But his most notable SPD symptom, extreme clumsiness, is very improved, to the point that I wonder if he needs OT any more. A week after starting Peptyzide, I added HNZyme, and we are now to one cap of each per meal. Last week I also added Grapefruit Seed Extract. I gave him a few drops for 2 days, but didn't give any today, because he was anxious yesterday, and I wondered if I was taxing his system too much. He also gets much crabbier in the afternoon, like he needs a nap more than usual, yet stays up an hour later at night. So, do these ups and downs indicate die-off symptoms, adjustments, or should I order the Trienza to deal with potential phenol issues? If he was SO IMPROVED the first 3 days, is that indicative of someone who will respond to his current protocol? Any opinions, insights? Try AFP Peptizyde, see if you keep the good and eliminate the bad. Original Peptizyde contains papain, which some kids don't tolerate. > A week after starting Peptyzide, I added HNZyme, and we are now to one > cap of each per meal. HN contains papain/bromelain, which some kids don't tolerate. Try the SCD version of Zyme Prime. >>Last week I also added Grapefruit Seed Extract. > I gave him a few drops for 2 days, but didn't give any today, because > he was anxious yesterday, and I wondered if I was taxing his system > too much. It is high phenol, you might try giving it with No-Fenol enzyme. Dana
