Rishi, I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I am not an expert by any

means, but i have seen great results in my son since starting bio-med and the

gfcf diet. It has not been easy, alot of things are trial and error. I suggest

you go back to just enzymes and probiotics, then start one supplement at a time,

to see what the offenders are. Yeast can be hard to kill, your son may still

have the yeast issues, and if all sugar is not out of his diet, then the sugar

is feeding the yeast. He could also have phenol issues, or with soy, art

colors/flavors and so on.

I would never have made it this far with out the gfcfkids group i belong

to. Most of the moms on there are doing biomed, not all are doing the whole diet

but most are. there are many moms on there that have recovered their child. I

suggest you join that group, and ask this same question as you did in this email

and I know you will get plenty of help.

My son is two and half years old. He has been on Houston enzymes and

probiotics for last six months. But as we add more supplements like

multi-mineral, zinc, magnesium, calcium etc; he just reacts with

hyperactivity, visual stimming, flapping and sometimes with extreme

constipation (really bloated).

I am really tired of this going back and forth. Every time we start

something, and then go back after few days. Recently we ran through

anti-yeast protocol Nystatin/Uva urs/Flucanzole/Thorne SF722 each for

two weeks in anticipation that yeast is the root cause of the problem.

But it made every thing worse. Now my son is hyper and stimming all

the time, which he had stopped almost by 90%. In fact he is not even

tolerating food as much, so we are giving him in small amount.

I am really frustrated and don't know how to move forward. Any advice

will be really helpful.

Regards,

Rishi

Those are all minerals. My son was toxic in many minerals, so adding

them as supplements would have caused problems.

What are the stims?

Hi Dana,

After anti yeast protocol, he has been spinning car wheels and doing

self talk all day, which he had almost stopped before. He is just

going back even after redirect. Sometimes he is getting very upset if

I try to disrupt what he is doing.

How did you supplement minerals to your son?

Thanks,

Rishi

Does this mean these issues started AFTER you stopped the anti-fungal?

Consider yeast overgrowth first, then viruses, then B vitamins.

I gave them one at a time, so I was able to learn which minerals he

needed and which caused problems.

Hi Dana,

As per the anti-yeast protocol, we were giving Nystatin, Uva urs,

Flucanzole and Thorne SF 722 in four phases - 2 weeks each. His stim

and constipaion started immediately, but it was mild in the beginning.

We thought it's expected as die off reaction. As we started

Flucanzole, his stomach was more and more bloated as days pass by. And

so was he getting all the bad behavior.

Now we have stopped anti-yeast for a week. But his bad behavior

continue to be there.

Now I am suspecting if he had yeast problem in the first place. As per

metametrix GI Stool test yeast/fungi showed 100pg DNA/g specimen.

Based on that our DAN dr recommended for anti-yeast. His ION test

showed D-Arabinitol (product of yeast) as 35 percentile (within normal

range. I really wonder now if anti yeast has done rather damage to his

body.

Or he might have had a yeast problem AND a bad bacteria problem. You

may have addressed the yeast, but the bad bacteria is still there. Try

giving oil of oregano, which will address both yeast and bad bacteria.

I don't recommend rotating anti-fungals, because you might end up with

a yeast strain that is not susceptible to anything.
