hi

i havent come on the group for a while as my 2 boys both in varius

spaces on the spectrum are doing really well on enzymes

my question is my daughter - she has begun the endless round of

antibiotics and enzymes and in the end had 10 lots over 15 weeks to

shift a very resistant ear infection

her stomach is now foul - she barely eats but i am still nursing her,

she has been diagnosed with a lactose intolerence and has been seen

by the gastro in the hospital and has had blood and stool samples

taken. Her recent weight measurement showed that she hasnt grown or

even gained weight in 2 mths. Obviously we are very concerned and

upset by this.

I give her scd yogurt in small amounts throughout the day, but

withold other dairy and wheat. I guess she has very bad yeast at

this stage. The doctor feels she has a development delay as she is

showing no signs or interest in crawling. She is sitting up and

rolls about occasionally.

I think enzymes would be a good idea for her - we only have the " tri-

enzyme " hni in the house and today i gave her 1/16th - 1/8th of a

capsule mixed in 5 mls of water before every feed. She blew through

3 times after having the enzymes. Is this die off? Are the enzymes

irritating her bowel as it is more than likely inflamed? If so how

should i proceed?

Despite her ear infection she is still a very happy little baby but

she was doing so well with all her milestones and weight etc until we

started the antibiotics and upset the gut balance - im also giving

her colostrum as thats always been pretty effective against yeast and

clostridia in our house.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thank you

Emma

Ear infections are commonly caused by milk intolerance, for some kids

also soy. Try dropping milk and/or soy from her diet [and yours].

See if that helps.

For my son, ear infections were caused by mitochondrial dysfunction

and yeast overgrowth.

Try giving her infant probiotics, or taking probiotics yourself. Also

consider biotin.

Very possibly.

Keep the small dose for several more days, as much as a week, see if

there are any changes.
