Guest guest
the thing that occurs to me is that gluten is in carbs which feeds various bacteria and yeast in the gut. in turn, by-products of these yeast and bacteria can be toxic, can be alcoholic - which could literally cause the DT's if stopped. Because the mom is describing diarrhea the thing I would suggest is the CSA -= Complete Stool Analysis from Doctors Data Labs. Its about $150 if I recall and gives a read out on all kinds of metabolites found in the stool as well as testing for yeast and bacteria. the Dr should also order tests for Clostridia, h. Pylori and other pathogens that would grow in the GI tract. she could even be exhibiting PANDAS symptoms so should also have a strep culture from stool, not the quick card test. They could also draw blood and test for antibodies against strep The symptoms don't sound like the prodromal phase of herpes viruses but other viruses could be involved. However, it still sounds to me like a major biochemical imbalance which will only be bandaided if all they do is use antibiotics. They should also expect that real healing is going to take months and months, not a 2 week run of drugs. One thing the mom could do pretty safely I think is dose probiotics, use enzymes at all meals, use Vit D, zinc, Magnesium, B vitamin complex, biotin, Vit C, Colostrum and L-Glutamine powder. For the Why of any of these you can look at www.enzymestuff.com or Dr Leo Galland's website My guess would be very poor intestinal absorption leading to malnutrition and biochemical imbalance - but remember we are all playing armchair internet Dr so best to get some testing done to find out what is really going on.
