Guest guest
It actually sounds like 5th disease, or hands, foot and mouth. Google it. I've heard the worse is in the mouth because painful to eat. We've never been blessed with the mouth part so no experience. I'm sure other may chime in but in the mean time google. I'm sure your ped could give you some tips too. Tammy Both Boys Mouth Lesions/Sores...Please Help Both of my autistic sons go to the same school in downtown Chicago. So when both of them felt a bit warm and showed signs of the flu a few days ago, we figured they picked up a bug at school. Plenty of rest and fluids would help it pass before X-mas. Well today both woke up (one son much worse) with cold sores and canker on their gums, cheeks and tongue. My one son's is so bad he refuses to eat. We now think they may have been exposed to Herpes Type I. I know lysine may help. We also have Olive leaf in the home. I have no idea what exactly to do to help heal and relieve their symptoms. Any advice or insight would be a Godsend. Thank you in advance, Ellen
Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Thanks for your reply. My boys do not have any skin lesions or rash, just in the mouth area. My older son, 15 years, has them on his cheeks, gums and tongue. My younger sons has one " cold sore " looking lesion on his lower lip, but as of now, nothing else. My older sons lesions seem to worsen within hours this afternoon. Thanks for your help, Ellen
Guest guest
I've had this myself still from 6wks ago. I tried everything to hurry it up. someone recommended to cover the sores you can see with alum (styptic pencil, I think). I had it on back of throat and a large lesion on my lip and cheek. http://dermis.multimedica.de/dermisroot/en/11660/diagnose.htm<http://dermis.mult\ imedica.de/dermisroot/en/11660/diagnose.htm> . so sorry. hth, linda rn Both Boys Mouth Lesions/Sores...Please Help Both of my autistic sons go to the same school in downtown Chicago. Guest guest
Stop the enzymes for a little bit. I think they are what caused my sons. He gets them each time I introduce them. My DAN doctor says not, but I have to disagree. I think his mouth tissues are too sensitive to them. ________________________________ From: Keeper <robin1208@...> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 8:43:43 PM Subject: Re: Both Boys Mouth Lesions/Sores...Please Help I've had this myself still from 6wks ago. It worked very well at my house. I have also used OLE, but lysine addressed the underlying cause. Dana
Guest guest
If you can get your Dr to culture it, I would do that so that you know what you are dealing with. The likelihood is that it is Herpes. At least have him take a look at it. What you don't want is that herpes to spread because it is very contagious. I can't believe my dau hasn't spread it to her eyes because every time I turn around she is rubbing her eyes.  You can search on Herpes Virus type 1 and read all about it, but herpes is very difficult to manage if the immune system is malfunctioning. My dau gets some whopper cold sores. For the biggest outbreaks I've gotten Valtrex for her which knocks it out quickly, otherwise I use Tea Tree Oil which is pretty effective at reducing the lesion and helping it heal in about a week.  After the last attack, which I believe I brought on by giving her GSE drops in the liquid form... I started to work on immune system and stopped the GSE. I actually bought the GSE drops for immune but it seemed to excite the Herpes outbreak and my son simultaneously came down with flu symptoms that lasted a week and had a tiny coldsore. In addition my son popped out with a wart on his foot - thats also viral. I think maybe the GSE was driving viruses out of the system like a die-off sort of thing.  I have been conscientously loading Vit C, all the B's including biotin, Lysine, Magnesium, Zinc Picolinate, a multivitamin, OOO, and now we just started GSE again in capsule form - which I bet is far less concentrated than the liquid. We separate Calcium from the other things and I've also given the micro-minerals Vanadium and Boron when they showed up mildly deficient. But the biggest thing has been dosing Vit D. Both my kids were D deficient last yr and altho I haven't had them retested recently, we live in a cloudy, cold region where its possible to avoid the sun for months in the winter - or even the rest of the yr if you have a kid who likes to stay inside. I also boosted the No-Fenol, and digestive enzymes for substantial meals.
Guest guest
A day later, there are no sores on the face, cheeks, nose etc. They seem to be more of the canker sore variety. After doing a google image search for " canker sore lips " , I saw a picture which looks exactly like my son. Interesting they both would get it if they are not contagious. Last week Tuesday we had a terrible storm here in Chicago. Both of my boys go to school in the city and it took them over 4 hours on the school bus to get home. The ride is usually 35 minutes! The stress or trauma from the event may have triggered something? I appreciate all the help. Looks like a quick passage of time will be our best friend. I have used baking soda with warm water and it does seem to help. Another source recommended apple cider vinegar, but wouldn't that really hurt? OUCH! Both my boys had it twice and the second time they only had the sores in the mouth and fevers. The first times they both had the telltale signs (red marks) on their hands and feet. either way , it sucks! I hope they're getting better. > A day later, there are no sores on the face, cheeks, nose etc. They > seem to be more of the canker sore variety. Guest guest
canker sores can be caused by nutritional deficiencies, caused by leaky gut in myself. If I cheat then I get them because I get leaky gut and can't digest properly. - ________________________________ From: mjwojciak Subject: Re: Both Boys Mouth Lesions/Sores...Please Help A day later, there are no sores on the face, cheeks, nose etc. They seem to be more of the canker sore variety. Guest guest
It is definitely something viral. My one son's nodes behind his jaw are extremely swollen and tender. We usually used OLE for viral too. Last night, we unburied our van and went to the local drug store. We got tea tree oil and Mylanta. We followed a home remedy we read online. We diluted the tea tree a bit and applied it to the sores with a swab. They my sons swished around the Mylanta to coat the sores. It really worked! My one son was able to eat a few pieces of apple. His first solid food in almost 2 days. This morning the sores (especially around the gum line) are less inflamed and he was able to chew through a bowl of cereal this morning. Any other remedies for viral issues? Ellen
Guest guest
Gly-oxide really helped my daughter when she had bad sores in her mouth. you can get it at the drugstore. Did you try lysine? That usually takes care of cold sores, which are viral?very quickly here. lisa Re: Both Boys Mouth Lesions/Sores...Please Help It is definitely something viral. I used Virastop, OLE, vitamin C, and lysine as anti-virals [plus high dose vitamin A for measles virus]. The vitamin C and lysine were essential to correcting my son's immune system so his body could start fighting off viruses on its own.
