Help! Slapping and banging

My 5-year old has been slapping people, banging his hands or banging objects on

tables, banging doors. Also banging his right elbow really hard on walls or

tables. There isn't a moment of the day when he's not doing this. He's always

sought input into his hands but this is different, just out of control.

We do a lot of supps, Calcium EDTA IV chelation (for lead) and Clonadine. The

Clonadine was supposed to be to calm the impulsivity. But none of these seem to

have much impact on him.

Would be grateful for any ideas!

Clonodine hasn't been calming for my kids...they use it as a sleep med, but not

for tics or behaviors. I only know a little bit about tics and ticlike

behaviors, but I do know they can prescribe antidepressants for them. One that

is said to be most effective for tics is effexor. I swear I am going to change

my screen name to lesisyeastobsessed :) I'm always saying this as an answer on

here...but I've heard that yeast can cause the head banging behavior. My kids

aren't head bangers so I'm not sure. My daughter will constantly clap really

loud when she has yeast issues. Both kids get more hyper and agressive with

yeast (maybe why your son ahs increased his slapping and banging). The other

thing might be the chelation. It might be good because he's experiencing the

feeling that the banging provides and is enjoying it, if he hasn't before that

sounds like progress. Or it could be yeast increased by chelation , or just

detox symptoms from chelation. Sorry if that's not much help. Have you ever

tried using a weighted blanket or toy? My son doesn't like the weighted toys

when he's super active and swinging his legs or banging...so I got some light

weight ankle and wrist weights to see if he likes that...so far so good

First I would try increasing the yeast protocol.
