Guest guest
I have been reading the archives on carnitine and noted it is helpful for absorption and other things. Our nutritionist suggested it based on the fact that has been constipated since birth (he is 8 now) and has never had the muscle in his intestines to push out a bowel movement. Does this kind of thinking make sense? She said if we get the muscle a bit stronger then the poop should be able to be pushed out easier. (That makes sense- i am just wondering how the carnitine is instrumental in doing that.) amy
Guest guest
I do not have an answer for you as to how but I know that I asked our DAN about carnitine and absorption and he said our son did not need it because his muscle tone has never been an issue so I would definitely think the two may be connected and could be worth a try. Guest guest
Carnitine improves muscle tone in those with low muscle tone and I am considering it with my daughter, see description in my sig line. In fact some body builders take it to build muscle. -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!
