Guest guest
Another test (urine through Vitamin Diagnostics) you may want to get for your daughter is the Pyroluria or KPU because people with this condition are deficient in Omega 6s. Guest guest
, Thanks for this info. My daughter's nutritionist, who ordered the last urine test, is calling me back today. I'll run this by her. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of nancy berndt Sent: Monday, July 27, 2009 2:24 PM Subject: Re: long chain fatty acid problem Another test (urine through Vitamin Diagnostics) you may want to get for your daughter is the Pyroluria or KPU because people with this condition are deficient in Omega 6s. Guest guest
Hi , My daughter also has a problem with metabolizing fats. Lypo Gold helps alot and when I give her more than the recommended amount she seems to have exceptionally good days. Also, I experimented with carnitine per Dana. I started slowly and she was doing very well then began having behavior problems which I traced to the carnitine. Later, I learned from Dr Yasko that carnitine is a methyl donor which would explain the problem. My daughter is an overmethylator and carnitine is derived from methionine and lysine. I'm thinking now that if I give her one capsule once in a while rather than every day, she could benefit from it without so much methyl buildup. > > Dear list mates, > > > > My daughter is presently awaiting urine test results out of CHOP (Children's > Hospital of Phila.) to test for a metabolic disorder of long/short chain > fatty acid digestion problem. Guest guest
For fat digestion, I give my DD the combo listed below with each meal. I give all her oils at one time and use this same combination. It works well here: Digest Gold (a digestive enzyme with lots of lipase) glycine (forms bile salts) taurine (thins bile) Solorary Liver Blend SP 13 (contains milk thistle, dandelion, etc.) > > Dear list mates, > > > > My daughter is presently awaiting urine test results out of CHOP (Children's > Hospital of Phila.) to test for a metabolic disorder of long/short chain > fatty acid digestion problem. Guest guest
Thank you for posting this combo of supplements that help your daughter digest oils better. I have LYPO from Enzymedica and glycine at home. What type of oils do you give her that she tolerates with this combo?
