Guest guest
Soy to me tastes better than rice. Also Vance’s Dairy Free is awesome. I drink cow’s milk but if I had to go dairy free, that would be my choice. Potatoe base, comes powder, you add water. The soy I tired was the new wave I think. Has been years. Tammy GFCF diet Hi, I attended the conference at RiverSide yesterday and heard Lori speak. I was in tears hearing the story. Now I am thinking with all the vitamins/minerals/enzymes, I am seeing some improvement but not a whole lot. I am so worried about school year. So I have decided on the GFCF diet. Initially controlling casien and then work on gluten. I gave straight rice milk and he refused so I had to mix with half milk (ofcourse, I gave the HOustan's Zyme prime with it). How did you make the kids take rice milk? I am using rice dream rice milk. Any suggestions would be helpful. ALso we are vegetarian. thank you, Anandhi __________________________________________________________ Get the free toolbar and rest assured with the added security of spyware protection. http://new.toolbar. <http://new.toolbar./toolbar/features/norton/index.php> /toolbar/features/norton/index.php
Guest guest
How did you make the kids take rice milk? Hi Anandhi The dietitian we worked with suggested that you set a date in your mind that you aim to be casein-free on - at least a week ahead. Then, over that period, just start putting rice milk in with their usual milk gradually increasing the rice and decreasing the dairy. I started with a really small amount of rice milk - maybe only tablespoon or so. At the end of the period, my son was happily drinking half rice / half water. Good luck :-)

Guest guest
Hi Becky, I don't have a list of what does not have gluten and/or casein (and/or soy, which many of our children react to the same way as to gluten and/or casein), but I can recommend the www.tacanow.com website's GFCF diet information, especially the " unacceptable... " and " hidden... " lists, and, if you are not too rushed for time, especially their " 10 weeks to the GFCF diet " protocol for getting started. The reason they recommend 10 weeks is to reduce the likelihood/severity of withdrawal if your child has been breaking down these compounds into relatives of morphine, as taking them away " cold turkey " would put him into withdrawal. It also makes it easier for you, as you don't have to suddenly buy and fix completely replacement foods, but take dairy out first and then go one meal at a time if I recall regarding gluten. Hope this helps. becky_for_you <becky_for_you@...> wrote: can any email me a list of foods that dont have gfcf in them so i can get started.i need to try this before i start the chelation so i can see if it makes a differents and any help on what i need to do for my son. Guest guest
That stupid article is based on a completely stupid study that only sampled a small number of children. And made incorrect assumptions. It stated the diet is dangerous, but didn't say why. This is irresponsible reporting. Digestive problems are not the sole reason behind the diet. Almost every child with autism I have met has some sort of food sensitivity. Not all are GI in nature. My son for example had very subtle digestive upset, but a raging terrible excema that doctors only wanted to treat with drugs instead of find the trigger for. -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart! Guest guest
> > My son has been gfcfsf for 4 1/2 years and still his progress is very slow. I read stories of kids speaking in full sentences after the diet, but that was not our outcome. What am I missing? GFCF did almost nothing for my son. Speech required anti-virals, anti-fungals, and B12. Dana
Guest guest
Hi, I read that it works well for some kids, and just ok with others. If you have seen some progress, then however slow, you are on the right track. We tried the SCDiet, and my son got a lot " clearer " and didn't seem so spacey. It helped my PANDAS daughter tremendously. She will probly never leave it, except for birthdays, etc. I'm sure someone else has suggested that something may be slipping through, or that it's yeast.I'm sure we can help you get through this! Hope this helps, Susi > > My son has been gfcfsf for 4 1/2 years and still his progress is very slow. I read stories of kids speaking in full sentences after the diet, but that was not our outcome.
