Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know a reason why one area of our daughter's hair is suddenly showing some curls, whereas the rest of her hair and this area have always (or at least for the past few years) been straight? Is it something that comes with the approach of puberty, just a quirk, or possibly a sign of something going on inside that might be a problem, especially in circulation or intracranial pressure? Any ideas/experiences are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest guest
For some it's a sign of vit. A deficiency. Not proven, all anecdotal. Guest guest
Hi, Our daughter also got just one area that spirals when puberty hit. Our pediatrician said that's normal/common. As he described for his son, who used to have straight hair " Now he looks like a sheep. " Probably nothing to be concerned about. hope this helps. Guest guest
My friend who had board-straight hair all her life went thru chemo for breast cancer. When her hair grew back it came in such tight curls it looks like a hard perm my hair on the other hand has gotten straighter with age a family member, upon losing a child in childbirth, went completely white overnight at age 33. It would be interesting to find out what affect the hair follicles so drastically
Guest guest
I think your hair just naturally changes. I have wavy hair, unless it hits a certain length, then I have big spiral curls in the back. When it grows another inch or 2 it goes back to just wavy. Both of my brothers had pin straight hair until about 11 or 12. Now they both have tight curls. kerrie
Guest guest
My sister had curly hair as a toddler, then it was straight until she turned about 13 when the big springy curls returned and have remained. My hair was always straight until some time in my 20's and suddenly it became annoyingly wavy. I have to blowdry to get it straight now. > > Hi, > > Does anyone know a reason why one area of our daughter's hair is suddenly showing some curls, whereas the rest of her hair and this area have always (or at least for the past few years) been straight? Guest guest
My hair was not straight, but not really curly either. When I got pregnant with my first child my hair went straight(31). It stayed straight while I breast fed and then got pregnant and breast fed again. When my second child was 14 months old I was told I had thyroid cancer and had to ween the child over a week. After the operation it was 5 months before I could have the radation, but my hair started to grow curly. It remained so for 4 -5 years and then the curls while still there seemed to fade a little. I am now pregnant again and I think my hair is getting a little straighter. So I think it must have a lot to do with hormones. Una
