Guest guest
Hi - Is he drinking the honey? I use lots of honey in warm water with a touch of lemon to flavor it. I know lemon has Vit C, but this worked for me when I had a really bad cough. For the fever maybe a tepid bath would help... Good Luck and I hope he gets well soon! > > Hello, > my son with autism is three years has or influenza or virus, now he is > in his 3days of cough (a lot) and his second day of fever. Guest guest
A few thoughts - Acupressure: If he is coughing with lots of phlegm/wet cough start with the point that is directly in the dip at the throat at the top of the sternum/breastbone, press here but angle down not straight into the throat or he will feel like he is choking, try it on yourself first On the sternum, at the level of the nipples will be a very sore spot (if he is able to tell you find the sore spot, if not massage that area and alternate with firm pressure, it should be very tender and can easily be too much so careful Rub down his back - start at the top and go down, go in this direction only, also if he has a fever get a cotton ball soak it with alcohol and go about 1/2 an inch out from the spine and go all the way down next to the spine with the soaked cotten. If you have vodka or something that would be better but rubbing alcohol will suffice Misc: Keep him warm (I know every MD in the world says to freeze the poor kids) unless the fever is getting up to 103 or higher, let the fever do its job, this includes socks on the feet And I know this sounds crazy coming from someone in my field, but give him a cough suppressent at night, he needs to be able to get some sleep so he can restore Could he suck on an elderberry/zinc lozenge? If he can take it - Mucostop is an enzyme from Enzymedica you could try or Virastop which has some mucolase in it And supposedly applying vicks or something with menthol to the feet and cover with socks overnight helps - I haven't tried this one yet but people swear by it lol HTH -- Ormonde, L.Ac. www.AuburnCommunityAcupuncture.com
