Guest guest
If I recall correctly, ornithine works with the pituitary gland. Too much might stimulate it more than it should. I think body builders take it for growth and muscle building. I'm not sure though. I don't remember what the deal is with Lysine, except that it helps stimulate the immune system. ----- Receiving the following content ----- From: sandydiego06 Receiver: Time: 2010-04-20, 12:37:44 Subject: Ornithine and Lysine Levels x-post >Does anybody know what >high levels of ORNITHINE means? >And low levels of Lysine? > >Lab work done a few weeks ago and not sure if it's something to worry about. > >I've tried to research it and can't seem to find anything that I can understand. Guest guest
> Does anybody know what > high levels of ORNITHINE means? > And low levels of Lysine? I used lysine here to eliminate herpes virus. Once the herpes was gone, my son had tremendous increase of language and social interest, and an elimination of several stims. Guest guest
Yes, I second the Lysine/ herpes connection. Lysine is necessary to keep herpes viruses at bay, and low lysine can mean a smoldering infection. Herpes viruses (whihc include chicken pox) " like " to go into the central nervous system and cause inflammation. They are know for causing speech and auditory processing problems, as well as inflammation in the amygdala, a part of the brain that seems key in autism- it controls eye contact, recognizing faces, reading emotion in faces, fear response, emotional regulation, and a lot more. Also, yeast produces something that binds to both lysine and arginine and can cause both of those to be low. -Sierra > > Does anybody know what > > high levels of ORNITHINE means? > > And low levels of Lysine? > > I used lysine here to eliminate herpes virus. Guest guest
Thank you Sierra! You described exactly the problems my son has. Would you know how much Lysine and in what form to give my little guy. He's 3.9 yrs and about 33 pounds. Is there a powder form to mix with food? Shouls this be given apart form any other medicines or supplements? And what might I notice after giving Lysine? Will it cause behaviors, fever, outbreak of any kind? Thanks so much for your help! Guest guest
Sierra, I forgot to ask, is there an article or something I can read explaining what you described, especially about the part of the brain that is effected by the herpies virus? i'd love to read about it and share it with family. Thanks again for your help! Guest guest
> Dana, > how much lysine did you use? thanks. Depended on the child/person. For my #2, 3000mg 3x per day. For me, 1500mg 3x per day. For my other kids, lower doses. Watch for yeast overgrowth, herpes die off caused a tremendous amount of yeast here.
