Guest guest
After looking over my daughter's OAT test, I noticed it mentions possible exposure to toluene. Does anyone know much about this chemical? We purchased some toddler bed for our daughters from Walmart a little over a year ago and I keep thinking back to how toxic they smelled. These beds just wreaked and I don't know why we did not return them. I keep thinking maybe they somehow are linked to this toxin. Does anyone have any info on toluene? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
My son's OAT also showed a sensitivity/issue with toluene. I am new to the whole issue of chemical sensitivity, but so far it has been a very promising avenue for us and has helped explain a lot. It is my understanding that toluene is often associated with new carpeting, especially commercial industrial carpeting, and that sure explains so much with my son! It can be used in other things too, I forget what, but I would google it if I were you. About the beds- may ot be toluene, but they sound like trouble. Mattresses are notorious for giving off awful gasses and causing all sorts of problems, even in non-chemically sensitive people. I have learned that anything that stinks, or anything that has a " chemically " smell is something we need to AVOID. We will walk out of a place right away if it smells weird. Also, make sure that you are using nothing in your house with a fragrance (including soaps, detergents, cleaning products, lotions, etc). I think I remember reading that toluene sensitivity can be the result of a bacterial overgrowth so that might be worth checking out too. My son's sensitivity has gone down after treating yeast and doing some detox (like Milk Thistle for the liver and supporting methylation). I'm not sure which of those4 made the difference. -Sierra > > After looking over my daughter's OAT test, I noticed it mentions possible > exposure to toluene.
