Guest guest
Hi! Both my NT 4 yo and ASD 5 yo broke out with similar rash a few weeks ago. No itching, no fever, just a little bit more tired. Only came out on torso and buttocks. Pediatrician here in Korea said it was chicken pox. They both had this last year with the typical liquid filled blemishes. These ones looked more like little mosquito bites and kept coming for over 14 days before clearing up. Started Houston enzymes a few weeks before breakout. Otherwise just getting started with GFCFEFCF, vit/min and 500mg vit C since April. Anyone else out there with ideas of what this could be? Great if it was viral die-off, but why did my NT son get it also? Ellen > > I know there are lots of old threads about this, but I can't go look > right now. Has he recently had an illness? Try giving Virastop or OLE or vitamin C, see if that helps. And watch for yeast overgrowth. Dana
Guest guest
For my son it was a toxic rash from PST overload. Fixed with the help of the document in the files section - called Sulfur and PST or something like that. You just have to figure out if the toxins from a metabolic cycle that's not functioning properly, old environmental toxins he's been hanging onto that are starting to be excreted, toxins from a recent exposure of something new..... so many possibilities. Take pictures. You'll want them for future reference. Send me a private message if you want to trade pics to compare. > > I know there are lots of old threads about this, but I can't go look > right now. Guest guest
Hmmm... this is interesting. My daugther has a rash too. It is on her torso. The rash she has is itchy, but not all the time, it may get itchier if she gets sweaty or hot or upset. The rash also has a sandpaper like texture to it. It came on suddenly and at first I thought it was provoked by an emotional response. Now I think it came on and was just so irritating that she got very upset. It has been about 4 days and she still has it. I noticed it on her brother too but his was much less severe - covered less of his body and I didn't really notice him itching at it. The one rash I read about that it reminded me of was Scarlet Fever - but I don't recall a fever and noone in the house has a sore throat. Scarlet fever is a strep A bacteria. My other thought based on that was that introducing Culturelle may have caused a bacterial detox reaction. Both her and her brother had culturelle this week. She has had more of the Culturelle than her brother which could explain why her rash was worse. Jen K. > > > > I know there are lots of old threads about this, but I can't go look > > right now. It might be bacteria die off, or if your kids are cf, it might be that Culturelle contains trace amounts of milk. Dana
Guest guest
, Thanks for mentioning the PST document from the Files! It is very interesting (but quite complicated). I am not sure how much I understand, but here is what I got out of it: If low PST enzyme activity is suspected, decrease load on PST by eliminating bananas, chocolate and oranges, as well as all artificial coloring and flavoring (I guess we are all already doing that) and decrease exposure to other toxins (including those produced by yeast and gut bugs), and also, make the PST job easier by suplementing sulfate with epsom salts. Does that sound right? Is there anything else that can be supplemented to boost the PST enzyme? Do you remember what you did that made a difference? Thanks again! Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. We did do some intensive probiotics last week, so maybe that is part. It does seem like he is either detoxing too fast (I recently added Milk Thistle and we had just started mB12 sublingual before that), or viral die-off. It's funny that someone mentioned a scarlet fever rash because I thought the same thing after looking around at pictures online, but my ds also didn't have a fever- very interesting. My ds has had some OCD type stuff recently, which has gone away mostly, I thought because of doing a low-histamine diet with him. Maybe he had some PANDAS too? Or, maybe there is some weird new disease breaking out around the country that our kids are getting? The only signs that my son could be sick are that he has been eating less lately and has been more tired, but these could also be his body getting back into balance with detox, since he used to eat like a teenage boy and be hyperactive. The PST connection is interesting too. For a long time I thought he was very phenol sensitive, but recently have discovered that it is actually histamine foods that he is sensitive to (the lists of foods are similar, but he is very sensitive to fish and a few other things that are histamine but not phenol, and he is not sensitive to apples). We have done lots of PST support. One thing that has been VERY helpful has been IntestiMend by BrainChild- it offers intensive sulfation support. I highly recommend it to have on hand in case of accidental infraction. When we had to give my son tylenol with codeine (I know, BAD, but he was in awful pain after dental work and was screaming), it stopped his reaction (he was high as a kite) in 5 minutes, I KID YOU NOT! I would love to hear how this works out with other people, since it sounds like several of you have kids with the same rash right now. -Sierra > > , > > Thanks for mentioning the PST document from the Files! Guest guest
Hi , I only have a sec, cause I'm running out the door. Chlorine interferes with the PST enzyme process. Filter bath/shower and drinking water to get it out. No swimming pools! No chlorine household cleaners! No chlorine anything! I even got unbleached toilet paper and paper towels. I bought a chlorine filter for the back yard hose so he can still have water-play fun (kiddie pool, sprinklers, supersoakers etc). Chlorine is BAD - avoid it like the plague. Molybdenum, selenium and magnesium supplements. Epson salts baths. I think manganese sups too. No-Fenol enzymes 3x every day, even when on low phenol diet. Do a urinary Essential Elements test (doctors data) to check to see what's low. You dont want to over do selenium. When I get home tonight I'll go back though my research notes from last year to see what else I can remember. > > > > > > I know there are lots of old threads about this, but I can't go > look > > > right now. Guest guest
Opps - I forgot. Low sulfur diet too. My son was crushed to not get broccoli for six months..... ;-) After the load has been lifted and the back log clears you can slowly start to reintroduce phenol and sulfur foods. The tolerance level should have increased. Still keep away from artificial anything. > > > > > > > > I know there are lots of old threads about this, but I can't go > > look > > > > right now.
