Guest guest
Hello all: Could the good doctor, or someone with more information the I have, tell me if the new peginterferon alfa-2b, is going to work better then daily dosing of the standard interferon alfa-2b? I went through combo treatment for 11 months of daily dosing of the standard interferon alfa-2b 5 million IU everyday. So does anyone know if the new peginterferon alfa-2b is going to be more effective, or is it just easier on the side effects? Take care, Les

Guest guest
Connie, I got so much fat, by the time the interferon could reach my ears I'd have aged a year! hahahahaha I know that the treatment can raise your blood pressure. It did mine and I had more ringing in my ears than usual (and I usually have ringing, I never answer tho, nobody's every home!) Drink more water! alley

Guest guest
That's a new one! I can't imagine what would cause that, unless you injected in your ear, lol! If it's going away, it's probably nothing. Maybe it was some sort of blood pressure, or internal pressure change???? Can't really say. Guest guest
Connie, I've been hearing my pulse in my left ear for about 3 weeks now. I hear it at all times, not just during my shot. Seems like I got a loud/strong heartbeat these days. Don't know what's up with this.... Edie Week 29 of treatment ? > I just got done doing the shot. Guest guest
Hmmm, maybe becuz you're letting it run in slowly? Last time I got a blood test...they had to take it from my hand but I'm used to that, they used a pediatric type needle...real slow, I felt the same thing as you, even though I'm not scared of needles...I felt the same thing in my ear, weird sensation isn't it? If it's only happened once, I wouldn't worry about it. Carol claudine intexas wrote: > > That's a new one! I can't imagine what would cause > that, unless you injected in your ear, lol! Guest guest
If your physican wants a MRI and you do not have the $$$$ then he should have some sort of program that's available that will foot the bill. If however, your assets and/or income disqualify you then ............ I don't know?? Guest guest
If your doctor truly feels that it is a medical necessity for you to have an MRI done at this time than he needs to write a letter of medical necessity to your insurance company to fight for your need. I have had quite a few doctors do this for my clients for fight for medications and for procedures. It's a pain in the butt, butt, but it works and it's effective. You just need to have a proactive doctor that is willing to stand up to the insurance company. For people that are truly in need, I know that the Epilepsy foundation has programs to assist people with paying for medications. They may have programs to assist with paying for procedures as well. Guest guest
I didn't know that. Money is no problem. Just get mad cause ya pay so much for insurance. I will let them fight it out. They never find anything anyway. Last time it was it shows maybe MS and that ya had a stroke or two...NO DUH. But whut do I know. But with the epoleps foundations you can only get assistance if you have epilepsy right...I dont just a seizure disorder. I sure appreciate your info. Guest guest
Get a letter of medical necessity from the doctor and appeal the insurance company's decision. My son has one about once a year and insurance covers it . If you keep appealing they will give in sooner or later.
