My grandson has OCD from strep about 3-4 times/year. His rapid strep

test is always negative. If the culture sits long enough, it is

positive. OCD clears on amoxicillin. His doc has seen this often

enough that he just medicates now.

Neurologist or Psychiatrist?

I can't answer the medication question, but at my house, OCD was

eliminated with olive leaf extract, vitamin C, and lysine.

who did you go to to learn about the supplements? Did you pay for a

fancy examination etc...

I called one place and they want $1300 bucks - I don't even make that

in a month.

I think we should start a petition for medicaid to cover alternatives

for treatment but then you also have to find clinics willing to take

it. This one takes NO insurance. I think THAT stinks.

I did my own research. I asked questions about my kids, what their

issues were, etc. People gave me ideas on what helped their own kids

with those same issues. I researched those ideas, chose one to start

with, and started it. I kept what worked, stopped doing what did not

work, etc. It took a while, but my son, dx with " classic Kanner's

autism " , severe, low functioning, is now no longer autistic.

I have never used a doctor, only other parents on the internet, and

lots of my own research.

Here is my page of stories of recovery. See if anything here sounds

like something you would want to consider for your own child
