Guest guest
It does have a " soapy " (kind of harsh) scent - I try to keep the dust WAY down when grating, but it doesn't overpower my EO's. Virginia in Milwaukee -----Original Message----- I have never used this product before...can someone tell me if it has any fragrance? I currently use Ivory to make my washing powder and find that the fragrance of the ivory overpowers my essential oils. Thanks again!
Guest guest
I have been making my own laundry detergent since Christmas, using fels-naptha. 1/3 bar, 1 1/2 cups *WASHING SODA* by Arm and Hammer (NOT baking soda) and 1 1/2 cups Borax, and 1/2 cup Oxiclean (optional). I chop the soap and then run it thru the food processor, then add the rest and mix well. I use 1-2 tablespoons per load, and use cheap white vinegar as a " fabric softener " and rinse aid--I put it into an old Downy fabric dispenser ball to release automatically in the rinse cycle. I am no longer itchy all the time, and my son has not had any problems either. There is no vinegar smell to the clothes at all, or hubby would forbid me from using it (actually HE does the laundry). Guest guest
All I can tell you is that we used Fels-Naptha soap when our dog got sprayed by a skunk, we tried every other method even commercial brands that were supposed to be for dogs, and my grandma suggested the Fels-naptha, and it was the only thing that worked... Good Luck, it is very strong smelling, but I know my grandma said they used it for laundry all the time. Fels-Naptha >I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Fels-Naptha. Guest guest
ANd my mom's dermatologist in the 1960's told her to use nothing but fels-naptha on her face--she had broken out worse with Ivory, the 99 44/100 pure soap. No problems with the fels naptha. My brother and I also got our mouths washed out with it--of course he got it more than me Bonnie, mom to 11/27/04, Autism, Albinism, Hyperlexia On Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 9:30 PM, Tammy Kuhn <tkuhn1@...> wrote: > > > I remember as a little girl getting poison ivy, was told to take a bath > with fels naptha.
