Guest guest
My son has fluid in his ears and the ear specialist recommended antibiotics and I asked for alternative. We are trying steriod nasal spray along with a product used in Scandanavia called Otovent. It is basically a product where you force air through your nose to blow up a small balloon attached to a small plastice device and then let the air back in a swallow it. It is supposed to equalize the pressure and help reduce the fluid. My sensory seeking son actually loves this. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and does this work. I am desperately trying to avoid antibiotics and surgery for tubes. Also, does a steriod nasal spray have side effects for yeast, bacteria, phenols, etc? I use OLE for antibiotics. My son needed tubes because of excess fluid and a few other things. I found that addressing his mitochondrial dysfunction corrected that problem. I wrote about it here http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm For some kids, removing milk will eliminate the problem. > Also, does a steriod nasal spray have side effects for yeast, bacteria, phenols, etc? Steroids tend to increase yeast. Dana
