Hi Alison

The type of paraben used is significant. According to the Environmental

Working Group's (cosmetic data) site, the personal risk of applying parabens

10 = high hazard

1. PARABEN 9

2. BUTYLPARABEN 6

3. METHYLPARABEN 6

4. UNDECYLENOYL PEG 5 PARABEN 6

5. ETHYLPARABEN 5

6. PROPYLPARABEN 5

7. SODIUM METHYLPARABEN 4

8. SODIUM PROPYLPARABEN 4

9. ISOPROPYLPARABEN 3

10. ISOBUTYLPARABEN 3

11. POLYPARABEN 1

12. CALCIUM PARABEN 1

13. HEXAMIDINE DIPARABEN 1

14. HEXAMIDINE PARABEN 1

15. ISODECYLPARABEN 1

16. PHENOXYETHYLPARABEN 1

17. PHENYLPARABEN 1

18. POTASSIUM BUTYLPARABEN 1

19. POTASSIUM ETHYLPARABEN 1

20. POTASSIUM METHYLPARABEN 1

Lesser or emerging concerns for this ingredient:

I check all products that come into contact with our family now for

ingredients (at www.cosmeticdatabase.com). All companies say (including

the vaccines) that such a small amount of xyz is used, that it can't hurt .

.. . but I figure 1 cigarette won't kill anyone either! It's when you get

exposed to something over and over that cumulative effects do occur . . .

and cause harm.

Check and and then decide

Good luck

:)

>I have contacted kirkman and the parabens used for preservatives are only

0.3% so I am tempted to try it - just wondered how others had found it.

This just blows my mind. There is methlyparaben in my infant son's iron

supplement! Infuriating!
