My son's visual stims were caused by yeast, viruses, and B12 deficiency.

For some kids, all they need it vitamin A so you might start there.

Dana,

I thought the same thing and this is why I started giving him cod liver oil

again. He already takes a compounded multivitamin that has Vitamin A so our Dan

did not want us to take additional Cod liver but I started to anyway. It seemed

to help but I wonder if he needs more. I only give him the additional 1

teaspoon of cod liver oil a day. Do you think I should give him more or maybe

something else. We do B12 shots every third day. We were doing them every

other day but you know I did not pay attention to stimming only to speech at the

time and then I decreased back to every third day.

My son's visual stim was caused by Vitamin A deficit.

Subject: Visual stim

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing as me and could

offer me some help. My son, five years old, has come a long way but his

visual stims have taken over. He loves to go for any tassels and just holds

them and dangles them. He tells me that they are hair or he will actually

name them. He loves to look at the bathroom curtain, I assume because it has

subtle blue lines. He loves dolls with long hair and is fixated on the hair.

I feel these actions are taking over and not allowing him to function. He is

so caught up in that and does not want to do anything else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dana, ,

sorry to butt in. I'm having the same problem as , where my DD has started

having visual stims, accompanied by hand flapping, to the exclusion of other

activities. this has gotten worse, where other things have gotten better. I had

read already about vit A and have it at home (not the cod liver oil one, she

doesn't seem to tolerate it).

Dana, what dose of vit A did you give ? did you increase until a certain point

then stop, or continue, for how long ?

thank you !

If you saw an improvement, I would give him another dose at a different time of

day, see if you notice additional improvements.

I will try this. I was reading your site on Vitamin A protocol so I will try

the higher dose. I will say that he hates it. We do not take pills yet. I

know I need to work on this. I am hoping once he can reason, I can train him.

Thanks for the info. I will try it and see if it improves. I had even thought

of increasing b12 and look for signs of visual improvement.

If it is a recent development, try increasing the yeast protocol first.

Similar symptoms, similar question: we give CLO isn't that enough vitamin A

if that was the deficiency causing the stims?
