Guest guest
HI all. We're just beginning our DAn journey for our 2 1/2 year old no-dx son (apraxia of speech, but no asd) He's basically borderline but moving further away. We did blood and stool testing last week (sent out) and will hopefully get the urine out tomorrow for testing. For about 6 weeks we have reduced the amount of gluteny things he has been eating and replacing it with more whole grains and GF foods, most of which have been going well. We've added B12 and SuperNu Thera and have increased the amount of Omega 3 he has been getting. We've switched from whole milk yogurt to low fat Kefir and I made fresh goats kefir yesterday which we'll try today. ANYWAY, we've been documenting behavior changes - good and bad - and notice a *definite craziness when eating gluteny things, more so than casein. A bagel and a blue lollipop on Thursday sent him into a tailspin that lasted thru midday Saturday. You can certainly try that, or just the AFP Peptizyde, see if that helps the gluten. > Anyway, suggestions welcome here. Guest guest
I am no expert but at least get his diet totally clean for a couple months and see what great results you get. We’ve been clean for 4 ½ years, once you get used to it, it goes well. About preschool. We just provide our sons save snack. I don’t rely on others to follow “the rules” of food allergies, nor do I have that level of trust. A fruit snack isn’t a fruit snack and dealing with a peanut allergy, it takes extra diligence. My son carries his really cool spider man snack pack and picks out his safe snack/juice every time. BTW, the one preschool he attended served water. I love that! So many kids don’t like water but when all your friends are drinking its cool! Tammy Enzyme Recomendation - Please advise HI all. Guest guest
Hi, I started my son on gf/cf around Thanksgiving (bad timing on my part) and by the third week I realized 2 things: my dh was not going to be willing to go gf/cf, so there was always lots of no-no foods around and ...... I could not control what was going to happen at school during snack or lunch time. When I found that HNI had enzymes that could replace the diet I started right away. I am VERY happy with the results. Not only do I feel they are working, but it's one less thing for me not to worry if something has trace amounts of gluten or casein in it ( and believe me, I have alot of other things to worry about)My son tolerates enzymes and supps well, so he's flourished on them. Just a side note: I got rid of anything with artificial flavors and colors regardless. They are made from chemicals and petroleum and don'thave a place in a child's diet whether autistic or not. I try to be as organic as possible as well. You are going to have to give it time to experiment and see results with enzymes, but please consider removing artificial stuff altogether. It's really bad stuff! > > > > > > Enzyme Recomendation - Please advise > > > > HI all. Guest guest
My son'S DAN! doctor told us to use Kirkman's EnZym-Complete/DPP-IV if he had a " slip " . It is GFCF, and destroys all gluten and casein. > > HI all.
