Guest guest
I'm new to all of this, but I'll bet everyone would agree with me that you need to give probiotics while giving the antibiotics. And maybe in greater doses? (Someone else will answer to that!) Sorry I'm not more help... Dana C. (One of many Dana's) -------------- Original message -------------- From: " mjwojciak " <mjwojciak@...> Hi again, All 3 of my kids have come down with Strep Throat. As much as visits to the MD worry me, we had to go. He cultured them for Strep and sure enough, all 3 had it. He Rx'd Amoxicillin for all 3 kids for 10 days. I am worried about them go out of balance. Are there things I can be giving them to help right now? Should I wait on probiotics until all the antibiotics are gone? Should I be worried about yeast? My children have not been on antibiotics in years, I am worried that much of the hard work we have done to get them " right " may be undone. Any suggestions or links to such would be a great help. Guest guest
I'd call a homeopathist first before giving abx. I have one in Birmingham. They can work off the phone. They probably will take a case which can be done over the phone. My homeopath only charges 185 so you have to ask. Some charge a lot which I think is ridiculous. You'll need to do that for all 3 b/c homeopathy works individually and what one responds to the other might not. Allopathic medicine is trained to just treat everything the same. an infection. Here give this. If you are unfamiliar with homeopathy, give me a holler and I can tell you more about it. If you are familiar but don't have one, I can recommend mine. Guest guest
I would definitely give the antibiotics. I give a " cheap " protiotic IN BETWEEN doses as the antibiotics will most likely kill bacteria from probiotics. After they're through, give a " heavy duty " probiotic. I'm using Ultimate Flora. Guest guest
When it comes to the throat/tonsils the problem well keep reacurring over and over. Antibiotics are a temporary affect and not to mention the long term affects after. Our older son used to get cronic infections (they wanted to take his tonsils out), antibiotic after another, it would always come back. Finally we just used military method and had him start gargling with warm salt water if they are able too try that and also add OLE or garlic. If they are too young or unable to garlge the salt water consider trying aloe vera juice instead, it to is good for virus/bacteria issues! Have them swish or hold it in there mouths for a few seconds if possible! When it comes to the throat/tonsils there are crevices that the virus/bacteria keeps trapped there and this is why antibiotics dont completely work. The salt water cleans out the crevis's and the natural antibiotics well do a better job than the script ones with out the damage to the gi! Our son no longer has the cronic throat infections and antibiotics are a thing of the past for him! Jennie<>< > > Hi again, > All 3 of my kids have come down with Strep Throat. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, I'm not sure if someone else has already suggested this, but is it possible to have the doctor give them injectable instead of oral antibiotics? This avoids the gut entirely. I don't know if you can do it once you leave the office, especially without paying another office visit for each of the kids, which your insurance (if any) probably won't cover, but it might be worth it to call and find out if this is an option. Hope this helps. mjwojciak <mjwojciak@...> wrote: Hi again, All 3 of my kids have come down with Strep Throat. As much as visits to the MD worry me, we had to go. Guest guest
> > Hi again, > All 3 of my kids have come down with Strep Throat. My #4 had strep 4x. The first 3x, I took her to the ped and he rx Zithromax. It eliminated the strep for a few weeks, and then it came back. The 4th time, I just gave her OLE, never took her to the ped. The OLE eliminated the strep and it never came back. So even if you are using rx medication, try giving OLE also. >>Should I wait on probiotics until all > the antibiotics are gone? Should I be worried about yeast? Give something for yeast, like biotin or GSE or oil of oregano. You can wait on the probiotics until the antibiotics are gone, if you want. But you will usually need *something* to address yeast during the antibiotics. Dana
Guest guest
4 days into the Amoxicillin and my 12 year old is turning back into a monster. Kicking at school, throwing things at home. Some of the behaviors are attention based, but he was a literal angel 2 days ago (for the first time in weeks). Albeit he was run down a bit, but my sweet boy seemed back. Now he is scripting Disney shows while trying to fall asleep, and very hyper at night for the first time in months. I started Biotin in the morning yesterday. Could this be causing some sort of die-off? Will GSE take care of the yeast and any viral issues too? We have used Olive Leaf from Now in the past. My husband noticed my son would start acting up immediately after taking the OLE for a few days. It sounds like this all points to yeast? Guest guest
Is it the liquid PINK (red dye) amoxicillin? Or a pill? Could be some phenol issues in there, too if you're using the liquid. > > 4 days into the Amoxicillin and my 12 year old is turning back into a > monster. Kicking at school, throwing things at home. If he is cf, certain versions of amox contain milk. Otherwise, the most common problem with antibiotics is yeast overgrowth. > I started Biotin in the morning yesterday. It was not helpful for viruses here, but yes, very helpful for yeast. It is high phenol, so if you suspect that problem, give it with No-Fenol enzyme. >> We have used Olive Leaf from Now in the past.
