Guest guest
We are down to the last couple of days for early sign up discounts. I am the host parent for AHI's Philadelphia visit in 3 weeks. They are a mobil chamber who will be here for 8 weeks treating a group of families. I am happy to share info and experiences as both a parent and a patient (I have Lyme). This will be their second trip to Philly, Hard chamber HBOT has given us those huge WOWS everyone hopes for. A mom at the DAN 3 years ago strongly strongly advised me to sell my car and mortgage my house- to get my kid in a hard chamber. I am grateful to her every day. She had a 10 or 11 year old and had been doing biomed for years. She said HBOT would save me a lot of time and money, and she was absolutely right. I don't feel like I am losing a game of whack a mole anymore. To brag...We don't use time out very often, and tonight my NT 3 year old got bounced from the dinner table by dad for getting out of control. He screamed and yelled all the way upstairs (to the nursery where he was supposed to calm down and rejoin when he was ready). He just kept screaming and yelling- we were 30 mins late putting dinner on the table and he is just losing his naps... you can imagine. Anyway- my " autistic " son who never knew much less cared if or why anyone else was doing anything else- called up to his brother. He told his brother that if he just stopped screaming and promised to eat nicely he could come back to the table. My " autistic " son then explained to dad that Rowan was crying because he was worried that he wouldn't be allowed to re-join the family and finish his dinner. His little brother stopped crying and happily came back to the table- and said I am glad you are okay now. is basically recovered now. Thanks to hard chamber HBOT. We are after some subtle theory of mind and empathy stuff. He is a gifted kid in a typical Montessori school without support. His teacher told me during the last round of HBOT (OCt 08) that he is the most popular kid in his class. I had to sit down- I couldn't imagine what she was saying.. People ask what things have changed- his sensory issues are almost totally gone, anxiety is gone, he pretend plays, is more flexible, expresses emotions, perceives emotions, etc etc. He is just more present. It is like all systems are firing! We stopped OT and Pt and speech a couple of months ago. I thought we were going to be in a restrictive therapeutic environment forever. At 3 he was scripted, rigid, anxious, riddled with sensory problems, clumsy, semi-disconnected, inappropriate, out of context, hand flapping, ear covering, etc. etc. So when people ask what differences we see- it is so hard to answer- everything is different. We have done the diets and supplements and chelation. We have always seen slow and steady progress (with some small regressions) but nothing AMAZING until HBOT. And we haven't looked back. I can't wait for June! Email me directly for info on how to join the June HBOT group Carolyn
