My son has been on mb12 and folinic acid along with other supplements for over a

year, noticed change for better at first, but over the last 6 months or so

gotten VERY aggressive especially last 2 months.  Thinking about stopping for a

while but not sure if I should, DAN says no but I don't see changes for better

recently and can't keep putting out money for things not sure are working.

Although this week my sis in law hit me with her observation that he has not had

any changes that she sees (mind you she sees him once or twice a year) my did

notice his temper this week and thinks that I should just keep medicating him

with risperdal and not do any supp or diet because no benefits and just wasting

money, says just spinning my wheels.  boy did that make me feel miserable

Personally, I think this is where a good partnership with DAN and patient is

essential. Your DAN should listen to you, look at your child, and make changes

accordingly.

Are you still seeing any benefits from the MB12? Our challenge was that we did

not see any benefits, only aggression. We stopped it (with our DAN's blessing)

and tried to tackle methylation another way. We gave it a go for almost four

months.

For us, working on the sulfation pathway led to recovery (amongst a lot of other

things!) My son responded to salt baths, magnesium sulfate cream, and other

things along that pathway.

For DAN to be effective, I think it needs to be highly individualized. I also

think people have to go fairly slow and give things a try, and also realize the

synergistic effect of some supplements.

Recently, we did a NutraEval from Genova. That test was soooooo fascinating.

More than any of the others, it gave us a good indication of what minerals/supps

he really needed, so we could tailor the program to his actual need. That being

said, we are two years into biomed and our son is considered recovered. This

test helped us to some final-type tweaking.

Could your son's gut be getting unhealthy? Aggression for us signaled either

yeast or bacteria (my son doesn't always fit the mold symptom wise). Usually,

aggression and bacteria go together, and silliness and yeast go together.

If I could offer one other suggestion...don't by swayed by what other people

think/say. If I had a penny for every ridiculous comment or unhelpful criticism,

I'd be a rich, rich girl....with a very sick little boy. Instead, I am an

arrogant woman :) who wouldn't listen to unhelpful or mean comments, and now

have a healed little boy who will live a full life without AUTISM!!!

All the nay-sayers are big believers in biomed now! :)

Thank you Sara. This is all so inspirational. I am still deep in the hole

searching for some light.

We worked up to a couple cups and he soaked for 20 minutes or so. Fairly similar

results when he just soaked his feet in one of those motorized foot spa baths.

We did try the mag sulfate cream but didn't find it worked as well.
