Guest guest
Dear Could I ask how you know specifically you have a Clostridial overgrowth as opposed to a yeast overgrowth? TIA Caroline x
Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I think its difficult to tell without testing specifically, I'm going really on his symptons but will be doing a metametrix dysbiosis test on Monday which will give me a better indication of whether its yeast or clostridia or both as Jack suffers from both! Yeast overgrowth tends to make Jack act like a drunk!! He gets very giggly and silly over absolutely nothing! Clostridia seems to manifest more in stomach pain and very explosive bowel movements, although bowel issues are a constant with us and are equally so with yeast issues. I think the only way to be sure is testing - if the DHPPA level is high we know clostridia is a problem. Also stool testing can help to identify a clostridia overgrowth. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Re: Clostridia Dear Could I ask how you know specifically you have a Clostridial overgrowth as opposed to a yeast overgrowth? Guest guest
I assume this is what we had, bloated stomach, tons of aggression. Allimax, which we used, is an extract off allicin developed in a hospital by researchers, it is the active ingredient in crushed garlic. Allicin is antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral/immune boosting and on and on. One capsule(recomended dosage) of allimax is the equivalent of many cloves of garlic (think I read about 16). It is supposedly very good for clostridia/strep/pylori and fights yeast and bacteria at same time! A bit of allicin background, stick 'allicin' in this search engine: http://demos.vivisimo.com/projects/BioMed Anyway, you get the picture, I am a convert. I open the capsule and add it to small amount of water/juice, I have to squish it around until it dissolves as it tends to clump, but it doesn't take too long. If kid swallows caps even better - but mine doesn't. Jack likes garlic bread etc so no prob with drink (and he is very fussy). Anyway, aggression went in 3 to 4 days. I read of someone else using Uva Ursi and swearing by it for clostridia on ck2 lately as well. hth, Mark > It looks like we've hit a spell of clostridia - can anyone advise as to their weapons of choice for tackling this one? > Am just about to do a dysbiosis test to be sure! >
Guest guest
Thanks Mark, I've got some of this stull which I've been using in rotation with other yeast fighters. I'll step it up to a daily dose and see what happens. Do you use it every day? With best wishes Re: Clostridia I assume this is what we had, bloated stomach, tons of aggression.Allimax, which we used, is an extract off allicin developed in a hospital by researchers, it is the active ingredient in crushed garlic.Allicin is antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral/immune boosting and on and on. Guest guest
Hi Mark Where did you get Allimax? Looks v good and how long can one continue? Also did you do another test to see if clostridia has gone? As I understand it can come back. What are you giving for yeast? Thanks seema > > It looks like we've hit a spell of clostridia - can anyone advise > as to their weapons of choice for tackling this one? > > Am just about to do a dysbiosis test to be sure! > > > > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- >
Guest guest
Hi Seema, I have now just left it as part of his daily supplements. I didn't do a test in the first place, we had big stomach, defiance, aggression etc and treated with allimax and no-phenol (an enzyme similar to candex for yeast) and the angel returned in a few days ;-) We give last thing at night on empty stomach and then probiotics in morn. Last time I bought it there was a '3 for 2' on @ www.health- store.co.uk but I've just checked and it's normal price 6.99 also available at www.nutricentre.com same price, but you get free postage and 25% off anything if you use coupon code:ATM13 (autism file reader) whilst going through the checkout. Guest guest
Supposed to be, very similar if not the same, I have a sample DF sent me but haven;t tried it yet - must do that to compare sometime. Mandi Is candex the same as candigest as we are using this last thing at night for yeast? Thanks for all your advice,

Sorry Mandi Who has to get on here early or the kids will be at me, I get several 10 min slots per day and then a proper one after they are in bed We're a couple of early birds today!!! I thought candigest had replaced candex - am I wrong here? If so where do you get candex?

Guest guest
Hi , I wouldn't get hung up on the no-phenol bit I just thought I'd include exactly what we're doing but I think for bacteria the allimax was what worked, I just paired it with a yeast killer - I assume any one will do - just see how you go! take care, Mark > > > It looks like we've hit a spell of clostridia - can anyone > advise > > as to their weapons of choice for tackling this one? > > > Am just about to do a dysbiosis test to be sure! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------- ---- > ---------- > >

Guest guest
During the DAN! Conference, clostridia came up a couple of times and it was suggested to use Sachromices Boularii to kill it. Although Dr. McCandless has prescribed antibiotics when it is really bad. Start with the S. Boularii until your doctor gets back. Watch out for potential die-off effects. Kirkman Labs carries it. Klaire Labs does too. . clostridiaI wrote a few days ago that Kenzie was having violent masturbation. He seems to be in intense pain that will last anywhere from 5-20 minutes. I suspect clostridia. Does anyone know of a good reference for me to read up on it more? Also he has been on Valtrex since 4/2. Would this be the regression? He's fine during school. He usually does it early evening. He rubs himself on the floor and he screams and bites on anything in site including wood and metal. I end up letting him bite on me, not enough to break the skin. I don't want him breaking off some teeth. This is so disturbing to watch and I feel so helpless. My doctor is out of the country for another week. Any thoughts?ThanksPenny

Guest guest
This sound to me like fungus, IBS pain, and high testosterone. I would personally try an antifungal like Nizoral and MB12 Spray or shots asap. That did the trick for me. Also cut out the complex carbs, rice, pasta etc... Milk too (assuming you haven't already). - Stan > > I wrote a few days ago that Kenzie was having violent masturbation. He > seems to be in intense pain that will last anywhere from 5-20 minutes.
