Guest guest
A cup of epsom salt in a warm bath works like a charm for us! You will find advice on " how much " to use on the web, but I'd say at least a cup of Epsom Salts and 20-30 minutes in the tub. Maybe 2 cups, but do your research. Also, the Epsom Salts are calming. > > I have a friend who has a daughter on the spectrum who is having severe constipation. She is going on day 9 of not having a bowel movement. She did start Oil of Oregano about the time that her daughter became constipated. We were thinking the Oil of Oregano was interacting with her probiotics and killing the good bacteria in it. Does anyone have any advice? Someone else suggested that she use magnesium citrate for a quick fix and then get back on a healthy regimen? >
Guest guest
Could this be why my son has loose bowl movements. His stool is soft not diarea (sp). Still soft. We do the enzymes and the diet but this has been an issue. We give him epsom salt baths daily? Thanks in advance, ________________________________ From: <sandyjramirez@...> Sent: Tue, January 19, 2010 8:45:10 AM Subject: Re: Re: Severe Constipation A cup of epsom salt in a warm bath works like a charm for us! Guest guest
 How about upping the doses of probiotics and enzymes? ________________________________ From: <sandyjramirez@...> Sent: Tue, January 19, 2010 7:45:10 AM Subject: Re: Re: Severe Constipation  A cup of epsom salt in a warm bath works like a charm for us! Guest guest
Yes, I give him epsom salt baths daily and more for the detox than calming. I was trying to figure out why his stools are so soft. We thought it might be due to the fish oil and cod liver oil. Our DAN suggested cutting out the Cod Liver since he gets enough vitamin A in his multi-vitamin. Even after doing this, it did not seem to make a major difference. Last night I did not do the epsom salts and his stool was a little better. I will try to alternate days and see how that goes or do every third day or something. Thanks for the advice. Hope this was it. ________________________________ From: mcdmcd888 <margaret.d888@...> Sent: Thu, January 21, 2010 1:12:08 AM Subject: Re: Severe Constipation I'm confused. Are you saying that you give him Epsom salt baths daily and he has loose stools? then, yes, cut back to only every other day for the Epsom Salt baths and see if you have improvements. In the in between days, put lavendar in the bath instead. It will be calming. Also, a lavendar essential oil in an mist machine (the kind for aromatherapy) or your basic essential oil warmer (mix with olive oil so the lavendar doesn't burn off). Kava Kava, an herb, is also calming.
