Guest guest
> I have been racking my brain and going crazy trying to figure out if my seven year old's sudden motor tics are a sign of yeast or die off. We are almost three months into transdermal LDN. LDN will increase yeast. >>to 4 caps along with Nizoral or Nystatin the motor tic began (stretches neck up and then tucks chin into chest as well as clucking and some throat clearing). The clucking and throat clearing was yeast overgrowth here. >>I immediately brought the dose back down to 2 caps but the tics are still present. In the past, when we had yeast issues we did not see motor tics. His ASO titers were done last month and they were in normal range so I don't think we are dealing with strep (although he showed 4+ for two different forms of gut strep on his comprehensive stool test two months ago) What probiotics do you use? Do they contain strep strains? >>Could their be something in the Yeast Aid that he is responding negatively to or could it be the right combination that we are seeing die off? It sounds to me like he might not be tolerating something in the yeast aid, or conversely you are not giving enough. >>Die off in the past usually took on the form of aggression and irritability but never tics. Most tics at my house were caused by yeast overgrowth. > YEAST AID (4 caps = serving) > OLE 200 mg > Pau D'Arco 220 mg > Goldenseal 100 mg > Caprylic Acid 100 mg > Cranberry Extract 25 mg > Oregano 100 mg This would be a very low dose of things at my house. Try increasing the dose, or try adding biotin or GSE or something stronger. Dana
Guest guest
Dana- We rotate the following probiotics and add one cap of Klaires Sac B every night before bed: Klaires Detoxification Klaires Thera Complete VSL #3 Custom Probiotics Therelac Tru Flora I am thinking about stopping the Yeast Aid and just continuing with Caprylic Acid, OLE, OoO at separate doses to see if he is responding to something in the Yeast Aid. I would love to add GSE into the mix but we have a citrus sensitivity so it is probably not a good idea. How much Biotin would you recommend 50 lbs? We are also on a pretty low dose of Nizoral (50 mg) as well. Our DAN likes to go low and slow ... not sure why. Thanks, Dayna > > I have been racking my brain and going crazy trying to figure out if my seven year old's sudden motor tics are a sign of yeast or die off. Guest guest
Dana- One more thing I noticed is that my son's palms and feet are sweaty. This also seems to be something new in our house since starting LDN. Any thoughts? > > > I have been racking my brain and going crazy trying to figure out if my seven year old's sudden motor tics are a sign of yeast or die off. Guest guest
> Dana- > One more thing I noticed is that my son's palms and feet are sweaty. This also seems to be something new in our house since starting LDN. Any thoughts? LDN tends to increase yeast. Sweaty hands and feet can be a sign of detox, so it might be that also. That would be good. OLE usually *increases* yeast, so I would not start with that one. >>I would love to add GSE into the mix but we have a citrus sensitivity so it is probably not a good idea. You can try it with No-Fenol enzyme if you want. >>How much Biotin would you recommend 50 lbs? Start low and work up. I started my son at 400mcg and worked up to 20mg 3x per day. It requires magnesium for proper absorption. >>We are also on a pretty low dose of Nizoral (50 mg) as well. Our DAN likes to go low and slow ... not sure why. I also go low and slow, at the beginning, in case there are problems. I increase as required. Dana
