Guest guest
I ate the yogurt with the S. thermophilus in it,, and developed a severe sore throat. I was doing a little research on streptococcus and I found that it is responsible for Streptococcal tonsillitis. I suffered from severe tonsilitis from the time I was 2, and at 5 years old they removed my tonsils because they were so swollen that I couldn't eat or swallow. I do not think I handle the strep strains very well. I guess I never have. Could my sore throat be linked to the s. thermophilus even though I read that the s. thermophilus is supposed to eradicate strep throat? How does it bring about symptoms if it is not the same strep strain that causes step throat or tonsilitis? I am so confused. Incidentally I read that L. lactis was formerly known as Streptococcus lactis. I wonder if there are any others to be wary of if we are sensitive to the strep strains. paula
