Guest guest
(I'm reposting this because I only got one reply . . . it probably got buried under the other posts on this group.) My son is nine with high functioning autism. Right now we are taking him to see a naturopath who has him on the following supplements and homeopathic remedies: Adrena-Calm cream, 2x daily (1/4 tsp. rubbed on inside of elbows and back of neck) Metal-Chord (homeopathic, apx. 10 drops 2x daily) Vitamin B12 (8 drops 2x daily) Cod Liver Oil (1/2 tsp 1x daily) Culturelle (1 capsule daily) Somaplex 21 Multi (15 drops in water 2x daily) Kid's Cherry Chewables (3 tablets a day) IgG 2000 DF (1 capsule 2x daily). We have had him on the GFCF diet since around November. At 's last visit to the naturopath, she used electro-dermal screening on him and said that the yeast she'd found at his initial visit was almost all gone. But since that last visit, his behavior has gotten a lot more, energetic, shall we say. He's started stripping our bed again and it's been a very long time since he's done that. There's been some spontaneous speech but there's still a lot of echolalia there. It seems that lately has been asking a lot of questions like, " Where are you going? " " What are you doing? " and his favorite, " What's that name? " (the name of someone on TV, usually.) I have been feeding him a lot of banana bread lately because so far, that and 5.00 bagels from Whole Foods are the only breads he'll eat. I can make the banana bread from scratch using Bette Hagman's GFCF flour mix. Did someone on here say bananas are full of phenols? We are still having problems finding a sitter so we can go to counseling. The sitter we hired never showed this past Wednesday and we have told the agency that sent her to us that we are taking are business elsewhere. Fortunately, we are not dealing with sleep problems because when goes to bed, he'll go to sleep and stay there until morning. But he will get up anywhere between 6 and 6:30 a.m. (we put him to bed around 8-8:30 p.m.) He's also been wetting the bed a lot. This week at camp he had two accidents where he wet his pants. Maybe between three groups I can get some ideas of what else I can be doing with him. -- Tina " I'm afraid my brain has left for the day. Would you care to leave a message with the answering service?
