Guest guest
Hi Listmates, My son has been on Diflucan (50mg /day) for the past 8 days. The anal red ring (which he has always had) disappeared completely on the 3 day of being on the Diflucan, but for the last 2 days, I notice the anal red ring has returned, and seemed to be getting more red by the day. Does that mean I need to up his Diflucan dosage? Is the return of the red ring a sign that the yeast is flaring up and the Diflucan being unable to control it? He has at least 1 BM everyday. His BM for the first 2-3 days whilst on Diflucan had a lot of dead yeast (and longer ones too) but for the last few days, I think he is excreting less yeast, and the yeast fibres are much shorter and more fine. On a behaviour level, he seems to be a bit more calm for the past 2 days and less emotional though he looks tired. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much Regards,
Guest guest
I suggest you consult the doctor re: dosage since Diflucan was prescribed by him. Guest guest
, redness around the anus is a sign of inflammation in this area. While yeast could be the cause, it could just as likely be due to other irritants in the stool or excessive moisture. Since there was initial improvement, I doubt that either Diflucan or intestinal yeast is the cause. It sounds as though you are inspecting the stools rather thoroughly. Are you seeing what you believe are actually yeast mycelia? Jim From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Priscilla Tan Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2009 3:02 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Anal red ring returns - pls help! Guest guest
The little fibre like things are still in the stool (though I don't see any of the longer flat ones). The little fibre things in his stool for the last few days are thinner and shorter compared to when he first started the Diflucan. Also there aren't that many in his stool. > > > Hi Listmates, > > My son has been on Diflucan (50mg /day) for the past 8 days.
