Guest guest
This year, Great Plains Lab has sistered with another lab type agency, forgot the name, but find on Grt.Plains site, you order through this sister agency and They have Dr's on Staff who will sign your forms for you, no need to 'mess' with your local ped. dr.This agency may charge a lttle more -for their services- but they take the orders, send you the kit, tell you about the labs they deal with for collecting the samples for the tests, and also info about requesting for their physicians siganture, The samples are sent to Great Plains who does the test. This agency sets up an online page for you alone with the results of the tests, and also send out a hard copy. There is some interactiveness with the website set up for you. But go to the Great Plains Lab web site for the link and full info. This last time, our reg. Dr. said he'd sign them as, in the other case here, his lab's didn't have an IGG test, so it went off easy. And yes, we did pay for it. The requests for the tests were made before this other agency came in and it was due to a long series of misinformation that delayed our getting the test kit so we kept it with Great Plains direct. Next time... we may go with the agency as one of the labs it deals with has come into being in the grandkids hometown shopping area... and no need to wheedle the reg. dr. if he doesn't like the tests. So far, tho', he's been amicable about lab things as long as it was understood that he wasn't signing to try to get the state Insurance to pay charges for labs they don't approve. There is another lab that will do testing by blood drops on a blotter and their in house physician will also sign for you. It's the old York Nutritional lab, now called Optimum Health. don't have the url off hand but can get it on request..to make sure you'd get the right lab from online searching... Generally, tho', they charge about $100 more per test but if you're in a situation that you need the less streesful blood sample collecting, this is the way to go. They are a well known lab in alternative therapies. grandma peg ---------------------------- > > > From: <kristenwallen@...> > Subject: How do you get your doctor to sign for Great Plains lab tests? > > Date: Thursday, June 18, 2009, 4:48 PM > > > > > > > > > How do you get your doctor to sign for all the Great Plain lab tests? Or are there tests they offer that DON'T need a doc's signature.I saw our primary care doctor and the only thing she would sign for was an Allergy Specific IgG test done through our insurance co. selected lab. When I told her I also would like a celiac test she said lets try one thing at a time. I've had GI 6cc issues for over 10 yrs now and she knows that. She claims that insurance co's don't always cover tests that " we " as patients want to rule out self diagnosed illness. > > I'm hoping my pediatrician is a bit more willing to sign for things as I think my son has yeast issues. > > Thank you, > > > P.S. I'm posting this in another group so I apologize to those in both for seeming repetative. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
