Guest guest
My daughter cannot swallow capsules either. I bought dark colored plastic cups with lids and straws. The charcoal is of course black so it looks yucky, but in real juice or a protein shake, it mixes and they can't taste it. Jen Charcoal for a 2 yr old Does anybody have ideas for how to give charcoal to a 2 year old? I've got him on enzymes and yeast fighters but suspect clearing the toxins is a problem. Can you open the capsules and put it in something? Or do you have to teach them to swallow the capsule? ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Open the capsule and pour it in something. shake and mix, give a straw cause it will settle on the bottom. No taste, but it does change the color of the liquid to grey or black. nancy j From: languageladki <languageladki@...> Subject: Charcoal for a 2 yr old Date: Friday, March 19, 2010, 7:12 AM  Does anybody have ideas for how to give charcoal to a 2 year old? Guest guest
Great idea. That's what we did -- start slow. It has a potential messy but really no taste. A few years back. Capsule swallowing down the road will be a great releif for you. Dana has instructions on DANASVIEW.NET but you can google " teach a child to swallow capsules " Good luck. > > My daughter cannot swallow capsules either. Guest guest
We used the oralflo, too. I just want everyone to know that it took us a long time to get it. It wasn't as easy as opening the box and using it. At first the pill kept sticking and we thought it would never work. We had to teach our son to stick his tongue out and then put the cup on top of it so he would not push the pill back into the chamber with his tongue. I think it took us a full week of practicing. You might want to buy some empty pill capsules to practice. All of our meds get pretty pricey! If anyone chooses to buy it, HANG IN THERE!! It does make life so much easier if you can get it! > > My sons learned to swallow capsules with Oralflo cup > www.oralflo.com > Joanne > www.healingautismandadhd.wordpress.com >
