Guest guest
Hi, Amber. The recommended DMSA dosage is 1/8 to 1/4 mg per pound of body weight every 4 hours even at night, for 3 days on and as many days off. So assuming he's around 40 lbs, it would be 5mg per dose times 6 doses = 30mg. 200mg is way too much. Please read Andy Cutler's chelation protocol - you can join autism treatment group or buy Cutler's Amalgam Illness book from noamalgam.com. As for chapped lips it could be due to vitamin/mineral deficiency. Is he getting any supplements? Supplements are very important during chelation as the body needs them to make sure he can go through the stress of chelation. I know that cracked corners of the mouth is B2 deficiency. B12 depletes B2 - is he on mB12? On Sun, Jan 18, 2009 at 3:16 PM, amberdeming <amberdeming@...> wrote: > Hi my 4 yr old son just completed his first round of chelation with > DMSA the 4 hour method. Guest guest
the chelation forces out toxicity in any way it can . the mucous membranes are going to go first and I would use natural lip balm. are you doing enough water? and I would give him wheat germ or brewer's yeast if tolerated for the b vitamins. it will be giving him protein as well with these as food. hth, linda rn Really chapped lips and sores around mouth? Hi my 4 yr old son just completed his first round of chelation with DMSA the 4 hour method. (We were doing the every other day per DAN but he got fevers on 2 occasions with no other symptoms so I attributed it to the chelation method) Anyway - he is not new to DMSA and even the 4 hour method he was only getting 200mg (2 capsules)in 24hours. Would this constant chelation cause his lips to be chapped and he has 2 spots around his mouth that look like white heads. His lips are so chapped that even with chap stick applied a lot - they are bleeding. He did have a cold about 2 weeks ago - maybe cold sores from that? But the one whitehead looking thing is a good inch up from his lip under his nose. Any ideas?? Thank you so much - Amber
Guest guest
With any kind of " white " bumps, especially around dry lips/mouth please please beware of staph. It can get nasty quickly. Guest guest
Thanks all - - I will have to check that group and book out. Our DAN told us to give that and I thought it was a small doseage! Ugh...Why pay when your always better off doing things yourself!! I'm sure it is from too much chelation then. Thanks - Amber > Hi my 4 yr old son just completed his first round of chelation with > DMSA the 4 hour method. And if he had a cold, that would be another indication, along with chelation, that the yeast has increased. At my house, B2 deficiency caused this. Vitamin A toxicity can also cause this.
