Guest guest
Hi Dayna, My 11 year old son has motor tics, also. (I believe his are due to chronic strep, aka PANDAS.) I give him Olive Leaf Extract (OLE) capsules; started low and have increased doses until he is taking 3 grams at breakfast and lunch, and 1.5 grams with dinner. Tics are controlled if he takes all the doses (sigh) but not eliminated so far. They disappeared completely -- but temporarily -- when he was on amoxicillin 2 years ago. I am trying to go the more natural (OLE) route this time. HTH, Posted by: " Dayna " Dgrundland@... dgrundland Sat Dec 26, 2009 12:05 pm (PST) My seven year old son just got back from a visit with his dad. His dad took him swimming in the hotels indoor pool every day he was in town (three days) and did not take my advice about soaking in epsom salt. Needless to say, my son has developed a motor tic where he stretches his neck up as thought he is looking in the sky and then he stretches it down and tucks his chin into his chest. It has gotten increasingly worse. It has been five days since he was exposed to the chlorine. I am assuming this tic is due to the chlorine b/c the my son developed the same exact tic when he visited his dad in Florida and was swimming every day this past summer. I have increased Mg and added Taurine to his supplements and have been soaking him every night in two cups of epsom salt but things are not getting better. About twelve days ago our DAN prescribed LDN, Ultrase digestive enzymes and 25 mg of dye free Benadryl I started with the 3 mg dose of LDN instead of working up to it. I do not think the LDN is causing the tics but the Benadryl, LDN and enzymes are the only other changes. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for me? My son is verbal and I asked him why he is doing it and he says that he has " to see if everything is clean " I have no idea what this means but he it is obvious that he does not want to talk about it. Thanks In Advance, Dayna
