Guest guest
Hi We use Houston Enzymes at our house with great success. If you give them a call, they will help you out and send you samples. Sometimes there are ingredients in enzymes that don't agree with kids...sometimes you've just got to keep trying...don't give up! Carla Someone Please Help!!! Ok, I would so love it if someone out there can read my long post all the way thru and give me some advice...so we are on our 3rd type of enzyme...what am I doing wrong or right? What am I missing??? The 1st enzyme was a generic brand and he became sensitive to. Sleep disturbance and irritability were the two big things after 3 or so weeks of using. The 2nd enzyme was Kirkman's WITH fruit and he had the red cheeks and irritability which started at the end of the trial pack. The 3rd enzyme is Kirkman's Isogest fruit FREE and at first...like the others...doing great..normal hyperactivity, increased bowel & sensory. We've been on the enzyme since the 14th of November and now notice red cheeks & irritability and we only use about an 1/8 of a capsule at each meal. Today I was so aggravated I gave him the whole capsule with his meal to see what would happen and he seemed a little better but I know its just a moment thing. I called Kirkman's and they didn't know what to tell me. Everything we do only works for a few weeks and then we are back at square 1 Also, he's doing something he's never done prior to enzymes...obseivly chewing on his blankets!!!! He won't stop chewing!!! And he's not teething!! My son is considered an " NT " child with leaky gut & food sensitivities. Every time I think I'm on the right track with him 2 weeks go by and he's back to being in a " bad " (irritable~whining & not feeling good) mood. I know there is a 2-3 week adjustment period but its been more than a few weeks and it gets worse??? And whats with the red cheeks if its fruit free?? And whats with the chewing on blankets and shirts? Anyone, please have any advice or similar situation? Thanks so very much!
Guest guest
I would highly recommend Houston also. They are fantastic about helping work out hte best product and dosage. I had a long tele call with someone yesterday that really helped. We recently switched to trienza from using hte 3 seperate and I needed some guidence. They are great. Call 866-757-8627 and they will send you generous FREE samples. You can also talk to who answers the phone about your child's situation; then she may refer you to or Dr. Houston. I have never been told they didn't know what to tell me when I called with an issue. Guest guest
Ditto....we use Trienza with great results since the product first came out. Before that we just used 1 of each of the individuals for as long as I can remember. I love the fact all three enzymes are combined in 2 capsules! Wish it could have been in ONE but oh well, I think it is a fantastic product. And you are right they are so nice and helpful. Dr. Houston has personally answered some of my e-mail questions. Guest guest
Not to knock Kirkman's as they have done alot for our *general our* kids but I have seen enough posts through the past of people having issues with their enzymes and a few other products. I'd try Houston's before giving up on enzymes. On Tue, Dec 2, 2008 at 6:14 AM, Farley <chris_farley@...>wrote: > Ditto....we use Trienza with great results since the product first came > out. He won't stop chewing!!! And he's not > teething!! This meant intolerance and yeast overgrowth at my house. He may not tolerate those enzymes, and/or he may have a yeast issue. Sometimes better digestion of food does tend to increase yeast, so try increasing the yeast protocol, see if that helps. Another possibility, is that there are foods he is eating that the enzyme is not addressing. I used HNI, and there were still a few foods I had to remove. Guest guest
For my son, it was the capsules containing the supplement that was the problem. It built up in his system and he could not get rid of it. I only found that out through muscle testing. Since then, I empty the supplements I get into veggie capsules (that have already been muscle tested) and he seems to tolerate enzymes better. You might want to give Thorne Enzymes a try too. Posted by: " fabricia batlle " fabribatlle@...  fabribatlle Tue Dec 2, 2008 10:04 am (PST) Hi:  Around mid August, I started my son on the Virastop/Ole/ Vit C and Lysine combination to try eliminate his OCD behaviors and boy, they disapeared!, but now I'm starting to see them emerge again a little bit everyday. Just like it happened when this horrible nightmare started. My question is, if I increase his dosage of Virastop, what should the ratio of the other supplements be?. Right now I give him six Virastops per day, 500 mg of Vit C, 300mg of OLE  and 250 mg of the Lysine. I now I have to keep increasing, but I think I might not be giving the right dosages. Please help me, I can't bear another X-mas like the one we had last year. (he was so obsesive, he would not open his gifts because he " needed " to touch me first to be able to do it--touching people to iniciate any activity is his obsesion).  Thanks Fabricia.
Guest guest
Hi there, I have been going through the exact same thing> Things are going great and then a set back. Two weeks ago I made a great discovery. You are doing everything right and then he ate something that completly sets us back again. But we are already wheat free egg free and diary free so now what. Make a long story short my son was allergic to Phenols so I read the Feingold Diet and within a few days I have a new child. No kidding.!!!!!! He had done so great on the Digest Gold and the Virostop that I thought is was a virus but then we switched to Valtrax and all H... broke loose. Well it was the blue die in the pill. So anyway it is a thought. The way you see if your child is a chemically sensetive child is just try the diet and then if you see a difference it becomes the treatment. No red apple Almonds so on. Food additives.... > > > > Ok, I would so love it if someone out there can read my long post all > > the way thru and give me some advice...so we are on our 3rd type of > > enzyme...what am I doing wrong or right? Guest guest
One of my kids has leaky gut with salycilate sensitivities. She could not tolerate Kirkman enzymes either. We had to use digestzyme first for 3-4 months then she was able to switch to digestgold. Hope this helps, kathleen > > Ok, I would so love it if someone out there can read my long post all > the way thru and give me some advice...so we are on our 3rd type of > enzyme...what am I doing wrong or right? Guest guest
We had really good succes with the Digest Gold too. We atrted with the Enzyme from GHT he tolerated that also. We found out he had a Dairy allergy on top of the wheat and egg so many products have dairy in some form so you have to be soo carefull. If you are taking supplement Vit etc. and you child does have salycilate sensitivities then even the Vitamins can be causing problems. Since I found our about the salycilate sensitivities our life has greatly improved. I finally realized every child is so different and you just have to hunt and hunt untill you fiure out exactly what is going on. Hope this helps too!! PS. also make sure you are drinking lots of good PH water!! > > > > Ok, I would so love it if someone out there can read my long post all > > the way thru and give me some advice...so we are on our 3rd type of > > enzyme...what am I doing wrong or right? Guest guest
My son still gets red cheeks with High phenol foods.
