We do melatonin. It's been a tremendous amount of help. We do it on school

nights only. It really helps him get the much needed sleep he needs. Otherwise

he's such a light sleeper and is often still awake at 11:00 a night. Unreal.

My 11 yr old is having a hard time falling asleep when he is trying to fall

asleep. he does not drink caffeine or anything like that. Any suggestions for

him to take something natural to fall asleep?

Hi,

I had problem of sleep disorder during my college days. Those days were

stressful, studies and then uncertainty about the future. I would suggest try to

relax, read a book and try to divert your mind from things that might be

troubling you.

My favorite sleeping tactic was take a book and read it before going to bed. I

am not talking about interesting murder mysteries but what I felt as boring

history books. I slept like a baby after implementing some of these following

tips:

i have a 2.8 year old with the same problem

I put her into bed at 8pm and sometimes it can take her at least 2 hours to fall

asleep

I have resisted melatonin but perhaps that is the way to go?

At my house, this meant yeast overgrowth. Try increasing the yeast protocol

It can also mean phenol issues

We use GABA and magnesium. But bacteria flare ups caused restless sleep for my

older son.

Will he drink a cup of chamomile tea? Listening to classical music for a few

minutes while drinking his tea could help.

  • 2 weeks later...

We had this same problem when my son was around the age of 2 - 3 but I think it

was yeast. He would wake up and sometimes just giggle for hours.

I used GSE and it seemed to do the trick.
