Guest guest
Hello! I see numerous times that folks have recommended yeast protocols, or increasing the yeast protocols during flare ups. I was wondering if someone could explain all the possible protocols. I realize there are many factors to consider when choosing a method of yeast control. But we are only aware of a few. We have used diflucan for the past 6 months with varying success, and we are now adding oil of oregano, 1 drop per day, to my son's juice. (4 years old, 30 pounds) Thanks to all! Guest guest
thanks Dana, and now that has led me to more questions.? for a 30 pound 4 year old, is is safe to give oil of oregano orally? I keep reading that it is not recommended, but the reasons listed seem to be the taste and the spice. If my son can tolerate the spice, what is the concern? Also, what is the dose and length of treatment for oregano? I've seen everything from daily use to 10 day use. We've been doing one drop per day but not every day because of those warnings. And since we stopped the difluan, I think the yeast is coming back. Or maybe it's die-off from a new amino (taurine) we added a week ago. I don't know. Our doctor says there is no reason to stop the diflucan, but we wanted to try something OTC. Any thoughts? ty,
Guest guest
Dana,Is oil of oregano only given once per day? And do you increase it as tolerated, until what level? Guest guest
> Dana,Is oil of oregano only given once per day? Depends on if that helps control the yeast/bacteria. >>And do you increase it as > tolerated, until what level? I would give it more times per day, before I increased the dose. So if you are giving one gelcap per day, try giving one gelcap 2x per day. Dana
Guest guest
My kids couldn't tolerate GSE...mega belly aches. Our DAN said to use grapeseed extract. I also read that garlic and oregano are good at fighting yeast. Plus a mega probiotic. We're having really good results with the Custom Probiotic Autism Blend. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that it was $100 a bottle...but it's actually way way less than we were spending because it lasts so much longer. I was buying three separate probiotics for three kids. Now they all three use this one, and it's still lasting way longer

Guest guest
Not taste at all...my pickiest kid drinks it right up without knowing it's there. It disolves a lot better than the other probiotics I was using
