Guest guest
My 10 year old daughter (ASD) had PERFECT skin b4 halloween and ever since then, after Thanksgiving/birthday's/Christmastime, her skin has been going downhill. Part of me does NOT look forward to the holidays because of what happens to my dd's body.....Darkness under eyes, more pale face, eczema comes back because of going off the diet (normally she's on a gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free diet, no artificial colors or preservatives)....And, as always, she continues to have reactions to fragrances (perfume and other fragrances/chemicals)...We try to avoid these things as much as possible, but it seems impossible around the holidays! Dr. Houston's enzymes have helped a GREAT deal, and, although doubling up on them when going off the diet helps, when we go off the diet during the holidays once a week EVERY week for a couple of months (along with the viruses that are out there), it's so harsh on her system (I guess there's a build-up effect)! For the last few weeks she's been waking up with a sore throat that goes away during the day (I'm thinking it's either from the heat during the winter or there's a virus hanging around at low levels)...She has also been having more trouble with sleep issues for the past few weeks and has a VERY hard time waking up in the morning...I thank God for the flexibility of homeschooling, which, thankfully, she's been doing great! Her body is VERY reactive to changes in supplements, so we can't do all the things the DAN doctor (Dr. Megson) suggests. Dr. Megson did mention starting chelation a couple of years ago, but we chose not to as she was going to start our dd on a very high level that I believe would have been dangerous for our dd's body (especially as sensitive as it is), but I was told it would only be for a few days just to see what the tests would show). This may be something we're going to need to trty to see if it will heal her body from various reactions. She's been doing great with Enzymes, 100mg Magnesium, 500 mg Vit C 3 or 4 times a day, gf,cf,sf, Max EPA Omega 3 1000mg, and avoiding chemicals as much as possible (although she's in a pool during the summertime, so we do epsom salt baths to help out with exzema and behavioral reactions). Her body even reacts to various natural types of things such as b vit's even though the tests show she needs it, among many other things (at least that was what was showing a couple of years ago, things might be better now). An Urgent Care doctor saw our daughter a couple of months ago when she had this same rash on her tummy and had NO idea what it was...He gave her an antibiotic to help with the " exzema-like " condition on her arms and even worse on her side (which he called by some name I've never heard of). My dd has the same rash again (it's been about 3 or 4 days now)...About 60 or so tiny red, slightly raised tiny, tiny circular areas with a tiny point of white in the middle part. The good thing is that they don't bother her at all, however, they appear to be spreading to her arms today (just about 10 tiny spots). Do you feel chelation is my next step? If so, I'm tremendously scared of this as I've seen how her body is when she has yeasty conditions. Changes in behavior, very high anxiety, very dark under eyes, rashes all over body, higher sensory issues,... It's very scary to me as it seems like she's dying when she's going through all of this (just as she seems when she smells plastic smells...the chemicals take her down quickly, to the point where we have to carry her out of the restaurant, or wherever, because she becomes limp (possibly from the pain she gets in her head, Migraine type symptoms)...so scary!! ANY thoughts you have on this would be most appreciated!!! Please reply back to my personal e-mail address....It's: k12userfor2@... if the last part didn't come through it's THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Guest guest
Our daughter has a tendency toward eczema - one thing that has been very helpful has been kefir (fresh homemade) and a sort of " super yogurt " sold in Whole Foods and health food stores called Bio K+. If you could get a few tubs of Bio K+, you could try it out and see how it goes. The first thing it did was to give our daughter extreme runny diarrhea (we gave her the whole tub first time, which was way too much), but from that moment her eczema began to improve and soon thereafter was gone.
