Guest guest
My daughter was on a high dose of Prednisone along with a prophylactic antibiotic (bactrim) for over 2 years. (to mitigate the effects of Continual Spike Wave During Slow Sleep.) Thankfully her EEG has been clear for the year and a half since the treatment, but we are left with many behaviors akin to autism and very obvious yeast issues. (Well, after that barrage how can she not be gut damaged?) She has been sent home from school on several occasions because she has diarrhea. I noticed that she has most of her " episodes " on days when she has eaten lots of wheat...so 2 weeks ago we took gluten out her diet..... MIRACLE! Her stomach is soft, her stools are firmer and she is stimming less. We are so happy and motivated to continue on a dietary path... I know that the proteins in dairy are similar to gluten and so we should cut them out too...however, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be wiser to do a yeast protocol first ? I am reluctant to cut out too many foods since she doesn't take supplements well (she pouches anything unfamiliar in her food and doesn't swallow pills) so her nutrients come from her food. Her calcium is of huge concern since the Prednisone has compromised her bones. AND then there is the issue of the die off. I've read that Nystatin is contraindicated for seizures...is that because of the die off? Has anyone had experience with kids with seizures who have undergone this protocol? And if so, what is your experience? Thanks in advance,

Yeast info here http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm At my house, biotin and GSE worked very well to control yeast. > I know that the proteins in dairy are similar to gluten and so we > should cut them out too...however, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be > wiser to do a yeast protocol first ? You can try HNI AFP Peptizyde for the milk. http://www.houstonni.com/ A yeast protocol is a good thing to consider also. Dana
