Guest guest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: Carol Stott, PhD February 6, 2009 _drcarolstott@..._ (mailto:drcarolstott@...) MAJOR PAPER RELEASED ADDRESSING IMMUNIZATION ACTION COALITION AND DR. ARI BROWN ARTICLE " CLEAR ANSWERS AND SMART ADVICE ABOUT YOUR BABY'S SHOTS " Last week the General Medical Council's Fitness to Practice Panel heard the last of the evidence in defense of three doctors who dared to investigate bowel disease in children with autism. Within days, Dr. Wakefield returns to the public arena with a gem – and the gloves are off. The Autism File joins major autism organizations worldwide in endorsing this detailed response to the Immunization Action Coalition’s (US) approved advice on childhood vaccination. The response was prompted by an ill-prepared and factually inaccurate document produced by Dr. Ari Brown, a US pediatrician, titled “Clear Answers and Smart Advice About Your Baby’s Shots.†The Wakefield et al. response provides fully referenced coverage of the real facts behind the issues that concern parents, doctors and scientists for whom repetitious government propaganda and intellectual cowardice is no longer good enough. The response points to the current position of the US Institute of Medicine on the possible causes of autism ( " vaccines are on the table " ) and alludes to the notorious Simpsonwood meeting in which data were manipulated to remove an apparent effect of vaccine exposure on autism onset. Readers are invited to ponder on the reasoning behind mass vaccination of very young babies against sexually transmitted disease ( " …because we can " ). How is vaccine safety evaluated….and what is the real position on mercury toxicity? Are all of our vaccines mercury-free…and what about aluminum? And that Japanese study? Did it prove that MMR is safe? Point-by-point, this reasoned, well-referenced and important response by Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues and collaborators at Thoughtful House addresses these issues and many more. It concludes by stating that parents looking for sound advice on vaccine issues, frankly, deserve better, a conclusion fully endorsed by all at The Autism File. The article can be seen at _www.autismfile.com_ (http://www.autismfile.com/) from 4pm on the 6th February 2009 The two senior authors, Dr. Wakefield and Dr. Carol Stott, will be writing more on the issues raised in an exclusive article for The Autism File due for publication on April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day.
