reishi, maitake, shiitake?

What about them?

I think they're all quite cancer-healing.

Would mushrooms be a good vegetable for our autistic family members? I'm

wondering about the phenolic content and also, since it's a fungus, is it the

same kind of fungus that causes gut problems for our kids?

if you have yeast /fungal problems, you should stay clear of mushrooms of any

sort.

Hi

I thought I might answer your post. From what I have read and from what my Dan

doctor and nutritionist have told me, mushrooms are not a good choice for

autistic kids as they cause excitotoxicity. If you read Dr Usman's paper on

excitotoxicity, mushrooms are included amongst the main culprits.

Hi Allain.. In my opinion, if you accept the bottom-line, over-simplified cause

of cancer as being a failure of the immune system, then products like

AHCC-Immpower and Mycoceutics MycoPhyto Complex are winners. I take both after

having refused (to my oncologists' horror) chemo & radiation after my surgery

for breast cancer (an informed, personal decision... not recommending this for

anybody else). I take other alternative things, of course, but what is the

point of the 'other things' if you don't activate your immune system to its

optimum. AHCC-Immpower, for instance, has a long history in Japan as a premier

cancer fighter. Good Luck.. Lola

tumor growth by activating immune cells. They help balance the immune system and

destroy existing cancer cells and viruses by increasing the production of

natural killer cells, interferon and interleukin.

Cordecyps, coriolus and shitake are good starters. Be absolutely sure that you

choose a water-processed muchroom because that is what all the clinical trials

were done on in Japan.

I read somewhere that Reishi and Shiitake extracts are only effective when given

by injection whereas maitake is effective when taken orally.

behind it and the Maitake-Gold, liquid is another that's a good one. good

luck...

Hi Allain,

One of the reasons why I was attracted to this group was the statement in the

description page wherein it says that this group believes in individual

experience far more than it believes in double blind placebo studies, etc.

I still highly recommend working closely with your doctors. But I also believe

in persistently pursuing alternative therapies that could help and have the

potential to cure.

In the case of 2 very close relatives (the first close relative had ovarian, and

the 2nd had testicular), they used Nutriact which is is a mushroom powder

beverage by E. Excel. Both of them are now cancer survivors. I do not know much

about polysaccharides, etc. but I can say that in both their cases, we believe

that this mushroom-based therapy has helped tremendously.

Thanks! All the best to you!

have been helpful.
