Guest guest
Hello...Hoping someone can offer their experience (good or bad) with Singulair. Our DAN! prescribed it based on the fact that it can work on inflammation at the cellular level (I think that's how he explained it). My son doesn't have any diagnosed allergies (yet) but does have the classic allergic shiners on a regular basis. They have continued despite GFCF and enzymes (although behavior and speech have improved dramatically). Some of his bloodwork also shows signs of possible cellular inflammation. Anyone out there have experience with this?. I've been hesitant to add it since he made a lot of changes at the last visit and I want to be sure I know what's working and what isn't. I also know that it has many additives and dyes, which makes me a bit leary. Thanks in advance for your help.
Guest guest
My 5 year old nt son, allergic to the world, has been on it for 2 ½ years or so. He’s done fine on it but would love to get him off. We’ve had our best year yet. I didn’t have to do Clariton last summer at all, but we had problems in the fall (I’m in WI), but think he may have eaten too many apples at the orchards. So many variables here with rains, mold, pollens and the change of seasons. But I also got him off flovent for asthma a couple months ago (we were doing only 2 puffs at night) and have had to not use alburteral once. YEAHHH! This was a kid that every cold sent him spiraling down and it seemed like pneumonia, bronchitis, whatever….we got it! Every little bug is carried to the worse degree with him, terrible. There was some warning on the Autism Mercury board, I think it was, about a family with a child that after taking singulair for a couple week committed suicide, so sad. I guess they’ve had to change their info to contain info about more possible side effect “mentally.” I honestly don’t notice changed with my guy on or off and would just love to see him not have to take medication every day, but…..we are. He likes it, chewable, no problem!!!! We are just taking Kirkman lab kids multi vit and vit c. Will add a probiotic next and then enzymes. We are just getting over an enzyme reaction to Houston chewables, strawberry flavors, and a bad cold. Guest guest
It also has corn in it. If your son is allergic to corn, it could be a problem. My son could not take singulair it caused him all kinds of terrible emotional reactions, but that is how he reacts to corn. They have a granular one that doesn't have the dies in it, but it still contains a corn product. Guest guest
I just read your post about Singulair, and wanted to tell you that on CBS news about 20 min. ago they said that Singulair is causing people to have suicidal thoughts. You can probably look about the CBS news web site under health topics to get specifics. Guest guest
My son has been on this since January. We've gotten noticeable improvements on it with no bad side effects. He just turned 6 years old. My doctor prescribed the granules - the chewable has apartame(sp). > Hello...Hoping someone can offer their experience (good or bad) with > Singulair.
